Didn't WCW do a blatant ripoff of the Sandman stealing the ambulance and getting lost on the way to the arena angle with Flair?

Good call on Bobby. That's one of my pet peeves of that era. As much as I loved Heenan, it is something that really stuck out. There were PPVs where he was just fucking wasted, slurring his words and yelling out of turn. Really bad news and very obvious to anyone even trying to pay attention.

I think that was Sting...

Ric Flair in a mental institution. I can't even remember the storyline of "how he got there"

The best part was Scott Hall was in there too.

There was an angle of some kind where Hogan/nWo kidnapped Flair and baried him alive in the desert (not noticing the helicopter giving us the aerial shots). Somehow, Flair made it above ground Beatrix Kiddo style and made his way to the arena.

In Tampa, FL, thousands of miles from the nearest desert.

That horrendous act was actually done by The Filthy Animals.

How about when Booker T and Big T ( Ahmed Johnson ) had a feud in 2000 over who could use the letter T in their name.

I remember this...Fit Finlay was in it and I think won it.

Half the roster in it seemed to get injured.  Silver King and Mikey Whipwreck, for a start.

Through stream of consciousness, I recall Finley won a trophy made of car parts for the win, and Brian Knobbs stole it.  And tried to hide under a car with it, only the trophy wouldn't fit.

Silver King was also in Los Fabulosos with El Dandy, in full bodysuits, and Stacy Keibler as manager.

El Maestro making his debut while playing a piano which was descending from the ceiling as Sid Vicious did a run-in.  Well, more of a walk-in.

Pinata on a pole match, where the pinata fell off.  So they just ignored it (other than Juvi half-heartedly trying to hold it up) until the ending, which I think was Dr Death killing everyone.

Curly Bill.

Sciavone unable to pronounce Yeti.

Rick Steiner shooting on Perry Saturn and Lash Leroux for no evident reason.

Lash and Chavo (as Corp Cajun and Lt Loco) winning the tag titles for about four minutes.

Shawn Stasiak and Chuck Palumbo wrestling with sunburn after a tech whom they had shaved apropos of nothing turned their sunbeds to 11.

God, there was loads of this shit.

At one point he sold some sort of lava lamp thing to Buzzkill, which didn't work when it was plugged in, but Armstrong had to sell what he'd bought anyway...

Hacksaw Jim Duggan got demoted to janitor in late 1999 by The Powers That Be. So they'd have him do walk ons during backstage vignettes, performing his clean up tasks. At one point someone brought laxative laces brownies to the PTB. Duggan unknowingly took them and ate the whole batch. That, of course, set up the gag of him in the men's room, farting and moaning in discomfort.

You'd be shitfaced too if you had to work for WCW.

Wasn't that where something went through his leg legit?

No, I believe that was when one a Nasty Boy put him through a table.

PeteF3 wrote: The transition of the World Championship Wrestling show to WCW Saturday Night in early '92. They tried to create a TNT-type talk show set-up with guest hosts...and at the same time, made all the main events 30+ minute, 2/3 fall matches. The matches weren't necessarily even bad, but I didn't grasp the point of seeing Arn Anderson wrestle Big Josh for 45 minutes--not a single shred of exaggeration, the match really went that long. The mix of guest hosts (guys like the singer for Alabama, Dave Casper, Bill Fralic, Riki Rachtmann, and Jason Hervey) and really long, mat-based matches made no sense at all.

I remember Fralic co-hosting at times and I remember some of the talk segments, but for the life of me I can't remember all the main events being martathon 2/3 falls matches.  That actually seems somewhat interesting to me.
