TV match against  Alexei Smirnoff. Dean Ho who was feuding with Smirnoff sat at ringside scouting  Smirnoff. Smirnoff was beating down Perez while ref was knocked out. Dean Ho upset with Smirnoff's tactics comes in and chops Smirnoffs knocking down him down. Perez jumps on Smirnoff as a groggy ref counts to 3. Ho and Perez celebrate outside ring.

Perez was also involved in an incident after a match with Omar Atlas in Leavenworth, Kansas. At a post match meal at Homer's Burgers, Perez was confronted, and stabbed by a fan who was upset with his tactics during the show. Perez was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Lansing, Kansas where he eventually recovered from a tension pneumothorax, resulting from a collapsed lung. He successfully returned to the ring 3 months later where he took on Roger Kirby.

He was held down.  All they had to do was say he was Puerto Rican and he would've been bigger in NY than Pedro Morales.  He would've sold out the Garden more times than Bruno if they just gave him the ball and let him run with it.

He was in Central States before I became a wrestling fan, so I just missed out.
But the stories my grandfather would tell about EMP amazed me. I realized that Hogan and Hillbilly Jim really weren't that great, no matter what my school chums claimed.

When I was in maybe 7th grade, I saw him in a six man tag with the Anderson Brothers against Wahoo McDaniel, Paul Jones and Rufus R. "freight train" Jones at the old Rocky Mount ballpark. He took what had to have been a hundred bakcdrops in the mud between second and third base.

Forget Superstar Billy Graham, he was only five or ten years too soon.
Perez was the one who was twenty years too soon.

Wasn't he a Medic at the same time he was a Villano?  Which meant that, when they feuded, he had to wear a half-and-half mask, and work for whichever team's mask was facing the camera?

He had a Danny "Little Red" Lopez thing going on being latin with red hair. I feel they missed exploiting that huge market for what it was worth.

During his brief spell in England, he had a 4 star classic with Giant Haystacks. This match was recorded for World of Sport, but was never broadcast since Kent Walton couldn't quite pronounce his name. Being a perfectionist, he couldn't allow this to air, and a match between Johnny Saint and Mick McManus was aired instead.

Till the day he died, Haystacks would site Perez as one of his top 5 opponents.
