The description doesn't say "title match" just that the match placed David as a contender for the title and it was 2/3 falls.  If so, it could be from this card:

8/15/77 Fort Worth
Harley Race drew David Von Erich, non-title match
Tommy Seigler defeated Ox Baker via DQ, taped fists
Al Madril defeated Siegfried Stanke
Big John Studd defeated Gino Hernandez
Jimmy Snuka defeated Gene Lewis
Skip Young defeated Bull Ramos via DQ

Is the Vader-Simmons match a title change by chance? They had those odd ringside camera house show clips of those sometimes (like Flair regaining from Sting in New jersey, for example).

No The date is right for the Von Erich/Race match. It was his first major match he debut in June 77.  It went to a 30 draw.

Cool. For some reason I had him starting later than that. Might be thinking of the other two.

I'm guessing only one or two per week, rather than saving a larger number for infrequent uploads. Makes sense as it gets people talking about each one, rather than dumping a lot of unrelated matches and segments all at once. I doubt the overall volume of stuff will be increased.

Yes the Vader-Simmons match is where Vader regains the title.

I don't believe I've ever seen this, I'm sure I didn't at the time.  Is this new to the hobby?

Another question - any chance the Legends Battle Royale is a real video and not a handheld camera from the crowd?  That would be really cool if so.

I doubt it.  I believe WWE has been airing the handheld version for years so I doubt they have anything else.

At the very least I remember them showing the finish on WCW TV after it happened. Vader won with a shoulderbreaker.

That 1966 Sportatorium match in Season 2 leads me to ask "How much pre-World Class Dallas is out there?"

I have enough TV Guides from the period to know that it was pretty much nationally syndicated in the 60's. Would like to think at least a couple of tapes survived.

They have Dallas footage dating back to the early 50s with the old Ed McLemore "Texas Rasslin'" show.

Looks like WWE hadn't taken the time to find the real deal until now.  The version they just uploaded is mint-quality tv master.  It's loaded with post-interviews from the legends.  The whole thing is 50 mins.  Great hidden gem!
