Billy Corgan has the rights to the Houston Wrestling library through his purchase of the NWA from Bruce Tharpe, although I think Paul Boesch's widow may still actually own it. The NWA Classics on Demand service shut down long ago, but Corgan has utilized the footage as part of the Ten Pounds of Gold web series and at least on one occasion aired a old Houston Wrestling show in place of NWA Powerrr.

WWE of course owns the Mid-South/UWF library and a lot of that footage is co-mingled with the Houston promotion due to the partnership between Watts and Boesch that lasted many years

I'd be curious as to what the free tier gives you access to. I can't imagine it would give you the live PPVs but I'd be curious to know

I feel the same way.  Could this "Free Network" stuff backfire and lose them subscriptions?

As I said earlier, there is no free version of Netflix.

It's a good point.  I'm questioning my subscription now and I wasn't until the free stuff arrived lol.

The problem is that WWE has probably done the worst thing they could at the worst time by tying the subscription solely to the PPVs. If you like the current product then $9.99 is still a bargain for the PPVs. But no one likes the current product. They can’t get 2 million people to watch it for free every week, so how many would pay a dime for it? Before, you had all the extra content to attract different types of fans. But now all that has already been watched or moved to the free platform or in the case of their biggest draw NXT it’s been given away to combat AEW which it’s losing against. Even if there’s a new documentary (like The Undertaker one) that people have interest in, the logical thing to do is wait a year until it shows up somewhere for free because that’s where the model is heading. And I’m not even getting into the illegal streams that are out there which are easy to access if you only want to watch 1 or 2 things. I can only assume that the entire future of the platform is in serious jeopardy.

Last night I added WWE Network to my Roku channels.   It let's the free users watch the main TV shows going back only so far.   Perhaps like 2 months worth, I am not absolutely sure.   As for old school and territory content, I didn't find anything that was available, they all had the padlock icon in the lower corner of the thumbnails.   So, unless you really like the current Smackdown, Raw and NXT Turnover I don't think there is anything.  I was interested in NXT UK, but that all had padlocks.
The big headline banner that showed the top 10 Wrestlemania matches was available to watch.

PWInsider:

With the official launch of the free version of the WWE Network streaming service, World Wrestling Entertainment has dropped the long-standing offer of the first month of a paid WWE Network subscription being free.

The billing page of the WWE Network now reflects: "WWE Network subscriptions are billed in advance and recur monthly. Billing starts on the date you subscribe or reactivate your account subsciption, and re-bill on the same day each month until cancellation."

It would appear that with the free version now available, the free month for new subscribers is no longer being used since free subscribers can sample the network as much as they like going forward before making the decision to sign up for the $9.99 per month paid version.

I was kind of surprised they didn't offer a free month when I canceled.

BPickering, how are you downloading it? I'm guessing you're saving it to an external drive or something?

Think you got me mixed up with Superstar. He is the one who downloads.

Well this month might not be so bad, as the classic content is picking up Prime Time Wrestling from October 1989.

That's good news.  Anyone know when this is happening?
