Jeff Jarrett noted today on Twitter that he was in New York City, presumably for business meetings.

Hermie Sadler, who promoted TNA house shows under the UWF banner, is on board with Jarrett's GFW promotion and will be working with the company. GFW is sponsoring Sadler in the Denny Hamlin Charity Race on 4/24 in South Boston, VA

Jarrett's Global Force Wrestling is already selling promotion merchandise at this link.

Jeff Jarrett announced that his fledgling Global Force Wrestling promotion will have a working relationship with AAA in Mexico during a new online video about the creation of the new group. Jarrett and his wife Karen have been regularly working big AAA events since being written off TNA TV.

Tying it in to the NFL Draft on Sunday, Jarrett is promoting a Fantasy Draft for GFW on Twitter and Facebook.  Using #GFWGM, he wants fans to list their top 5 draft choices (4 males, 1 female) for the company, selecting only unsigned indy talent, and they will supposedly take that into consideration.  Not the worst idea to drum up some attention and get some tweets at least.  But they're going to regret it the 500th time someone suggests John Cena or Randy Savage.

For those who have asked about what the status is of Jeff Jarrett's Global Force Wrestling project, two different sources working on GFW stated this week that the company is in "the middle of television negotiations" but would not specify any additional details.

One source also noted that reports floating around that country singer Toby Keith is not actually involved with GFW would be "incorrect."

At one point, it appears there were plans to use a six-sided ring, which makes sense as that was a Jeff Jarrett idea in TNA and something he brought back when TNA filmed different pilot projects later on. I heard from several within TNA last week that one of the reasons they believed TNA brought back their own six-sided ring was to, at least partially, "beat Jeff to the punch."

What would be newsworthy is any discernible progress toward actually running a show.

Until they have a bonafide television deal that pays them right fees, and have a decent time slot that is available in the majority of US homes. Then it's hard to take seriously.

Even if they have rich backers it doesn't mean much, after initial money loses with no light at the end of the tunnel, most money marks will pull out. Well unless they have a money mark, who is their daughter.

GFW sent us the following:

GFW TO PARTNER WITH EUROPEAN PROMOTIONS
Global Force Wrestling: Join The Force!

NASHVILLE – On the heels of partnership agreements with the top promotions in Japan and Mexico, Global Force Wrestling has formed an alliance with several of the top independent wrestling promotions throughout Europe, including the United Kingdom, Germany and Ireland.

Stepping forward to #JointheForce are

Revolution Pro Wrestling (http://www.revolutionprowrestling.com, covering south of England)
New Generation Wrestling (http://www.ngwuk.com, covering north of England)
Premier British Wrestling (http://www.pbwwrestling.com, covering Scotland)
Westside Xtreme Wrestling (http://www.wxw-wrestling.com, covering Germany) and
Emerald Wrestling Promotions (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Emerald-Wrestling-Promotions/100651866652805, covering Ireland).

“If you look through the history of pro wrestling you’ll find great talent from Europe woven throughout,” Global Force Wrestling founder and CEO Jeff Jarrett said. “We put the word ‘Global’ in this new brand, and we meant it. We believe fans want a wrestling promotion that brings something new and exciting and will engage them at every turn, and that’s what we’re going to do.”

Veteran wrestler Doug Williams, a multiple singles and tag team champion in his native England and in various U.S. promotions, has been instrumental in helping Global Force Wrestling put together this European alliance.

“I am very excited to be a part of the Force, and I really look forward to helping facilitate the relationships between GFW and these top independent wrestling promotions,” Williams said. “The European style will bring something a little different to the table, just as the other partners will.I can’t wait to see it all come together under one umbrella.”

GFW announced its partnership with Mexico’s AAA on April 29 and with New Japan Pro Wrestling on June 23.

That's all well and good, but they'll never be taken seriously until they join the NWA.

Never been a really big fan of Jeff Jarrett but I think you have to give him an A for effort. Not sure once the promotion actually starts running cards and if there is a TV deal whether I here in Winnipeg would get any coverage at all.  But I for one welcome any and all alternatives to WWE.  WWE has been recycling the same 3 or 4 champions over and over and over for years in the same combination of matches.
When that dastardly villain VKM ran roughshod through the territories in the 80's the old timey regional promoters could have banded together to make a stand  against him.  How different would the wrestling landscape look today?  The NWA let most of it's regional promoters get put out of business by Vince.  Granted Jarrett has more media streams available to him than there were 25-30 years ago.
Wouldn't Jarrett be fearful of the NWA such as it is today co-opting what he's building literally from the ground up?  IMO GFW is a welcome addition to give the boys another option of where to develop.

FW PARTNERS WITH SOUTH AFRICAN PROMOTION
Global Force Wrestling: Join The Force!

Continuing to extend its reach, Global Force Wrestling has reached an agreement with yet another international partner.

Following partnerships with top promotions in Mexico, Japan and throughout Europe, GFW’s newest partnership is with World Wrestling Professionals out of South Africa, the biggest federation in the Southern Hemisphere. WWP puts on shows throughout Africa and India and has run TV shows in South Africa and India.

“I have spent a significant amount of time wrestling in India, so I know there is a passion for it there,” Jarrett said. “There’s potential to reach a huge audience in that part of the world, and we hope to tap into that in any way that we can. Our fans might be surprised at the talent WWP already has, as well.”

One of WWP’s biggest annual events will take place in South African in September.

“Jeff Jarrett is well known to fans in the Southern Hemisphere, so the opportunity to work with him and Global Force Wrestling is great for us,” said Mark Beale, the owner/promoter of WWP. “We certainly can see the potential for mutual benefit.”

GFW has announced partnership with Mexico’s AAA, New Japan Pro Wrestling and top promotions in the United Kingdom, Germany and Ireland.

Maybe he's really doing something behind the scenes, but until they start announcing TV deals in the U.S., they can align with the Vatican Wrestling Federation and announce Pope Francis as the first champion after winning a tournament in the Rio de Janeiro quadrant of heaven, and it wouldn't mean shit.

Being able to use NJPW and AAA could potentially be a huge thing for them if they really get off the ground, but all these other alliances with obscure companies in far-flung places sounds like pointless overkill, and most of it will never come to fruition anyway.  I understand the value of having local partners in many different places, but there's nothing to partner with yet.  By the time Jarrett has a real product, if he ever does have one, 90% of this would have fallen through already.

I don't see the point in being pessimistic at this juncture. It seems he's being smart about getting his ducks in a row first, before trying to get a TV deal. These things take time, Rome wasn't built in a day...yadda, yadda yadda...

I don't expect he'll ever challenge Vince, but he started TNA and even though he's no longer involved and they may be close to closing, he's made money off of a company that is still around 12 years later.

No reason not to see where this goes...

I rarely "lol" in real life, but srossi's V.W.F. post is great! And I agree.

I'll be the first to predict that he gets the Spike TV slot over TNA due to the positive track record the network had with him.
