This is my pick.

Does anybody think that The Baron deserves a spot??  He seemed to be in the AWA forever, and yes I know he went to other places like the NWA and WWF, but he was never out of the AWA for long and he was there right till the end.

Da Crusher is a good pick too, as is Billy Robinson.  What about Ray Stevens?  Any shot?

Stevens would be an excellent 'thinking outside of the box'  pick as would Pat Patterson

Then this Mount Rushmore would have to have a pink curtain as a background.

I toyed with putting the Turkey on the Pole on it, but then realized, it had no head.

No slight to Pat but Ray Stevens is way above Patterson in AWA history. Ray came to the AWA in 1971. Pat came in 1978. It's not even close. Again I'm not dissing Pat. He just wasn't in the AWA that long. His 4 consecutive MSG title shots against Backlund blows away anything he did in the AWA.

Stevens would be in the top 10. Robinson is an excellent pick. Another top 10 guy. Heenan would head the managers wing. Nobody else in AWA history is close to Heenan as a manager. Larry Hennig is a good pick. Black Jack Lanza too. Baron Von Raschke as well. Then Greg Gagne & Jim Brunzell as a tag team. Or Jerry Blackwell. Maybe even Rick Martel.

This is mine too, although Heenan certainly is deserving...but the longevity of the other four are what keeps him off my mountain.

Agree 100% with the reasoning.

Haven't looked at anyone else's reply...
Verne
Bockwinkel
Heenan

Wow, the 4th is tough.  My inclination at first was to go with Greg, but not enough respect for him.

I'm going to put Crusher in as 4th.

Verne, Bock, Heenan and Crusher.

And now I see MadDog as a choice. Hell of a pick either way. I'll stick with Crusher, but I would have switched him out w/ Vachon. I'd still keep Heenan in there....remember, Bobby was there from '72 to '84 except for a short run in Georgia. Dude had almost as long of a run in the AWA, if not longer, than WWF ('84 to '93).

Can't argue with this. I'd toss a coin between Crusher and Vachon. The other three are a lock.

Can I do a version exclusive to when I started lucidly watching? Then the list would have The Trooper, Sgt.Slaughter, Larry Zybysko, Greg Gagne and The Russian Brute...

I was 8 when the AWA shut down. I missed all the fun.
