Does it seem like we're getting less holidays off than ever before?  I thought this was always an automatic day off but my company is open.  I'm letting my staff leave at 3:00 PM today and I'll probably go at 4:00 PM, but I don't understand why so many companies just never seem to close anymore.  About half of my clients are open and half aren't.

We're open too. We have been closed in the past or used today as a "clean the shop" day. Most of our clients are closed.

Thank you to any veterans that may be members here. I don't know of any, but if you are a veteren or active duty, show yourself and be proud.

We are open.  For NO good reason.

I'm in the Wedding Industry...NO ONE is open today.   NO ONE....Except me.

I'll be available on Facebook for a game of Risk all day, if anyone cares to join me.

We're open here (Restaurant recruiting) ~ Company recruiters seem to be working also. I am surprised. I figured I wouldn't be able to get ahold of anybody today. It's almost a normal day (although people aren't calling in because they don't think we are here) Srossi is right ~ this day used to be an automatic off day.

I had to go to my college class this evening. However, I was not able to spend the day in a high school because they all had off.

Down here only federal offices are closed for Veteran's Day, Columbus Day, etc. Schools are open too. That's how it's always been.
