I'd be interested in seeing some 'Retirement' [final] matches of some of the legends.

For Bruno, it was 8/29/87, teaming ironically with Hulk Hogan to beat King Kong Bundy and One Man Gang. The match took place in Baltimore and JBL juts referenced it earlier this week when Raw was in Baltimore.

I don't think Verne and Bruno necessarily intended either match to be a finale. Verne was teasing a tag match with him and Greg against Curt and Larry Hennig in late 1987. Bruno didn't want to wrestle anymore at this point and has mentioned feeling manipulated by Vince into getting in the ring. However, he may not have realized that was it.

The Destroyer had a major retirement ceremony and match in 1993 over in Japan. Terry Funk's "first ever" retirement in Japan was back in 1983.

Verne had two retirement bouts. One against Bockwinkel in the Twin Cities and one more about 6 months later in Chicago against Adrian Adonis.
