This video was released in 1983 or 1984.
It was a rock song.
I think the artist was the singer's name not a group name.
The artist's name was not real popular or well-known.
The lead singer sort of looked like Bob Seger...beard and mustache with shoulder length hair.
From what I remember, the lead singer was being chased by gangsters and I think he may have died at the end of the video.  Or maybe he was supposed to die but escaped.  Of course there was a woman also in the video.
Is this ringing a bell with anybody?

You just described about 50% of the videos that came out during this period.

I believe Wikipedia has lists of singles by year, and chances are something will ring a bell if you look through it for those years.

I checked a site, might have been Rossipedia:tongue: for videos released in 83 and 84 and checked a few that looked promising but came up bupkiss.

Maybe Rockwell "Somebody's watching me".  Not likely, I only wish he was killed by the end of the video.

I actually have that single somewhere - a friend gave it to me, the guy was his distant relative and he had a box of that single and they were giving them to everyone they knew. I liked the song at the time and was surprised the guy didn't do a little better with it...probably just was too similar to the rest of the bands of the era.

I watched a lot of videos back then and I don't remember that one at all.

It was not real popular but it got plenty of airtime on MTV.
Good tune. My friends and I liked it.
Thanks to all trying to help.

I had to Google him, but he was briefly in Rainbow from 1975-1977 as the keyboard player with Ritchie Blackmore and Ronnie James Dio.  He appeared on the "Rising" album which had songs on it that became a staple of Dio shows for the next 30 years, including "Starstruck", "Stargazer", and "Tarot Woman".  So he gets major street cred with me for that, but he didn't seem to ever do much again.
