Don't have a link, but it's all over the Internets. Worked a lot of different tag team gimmicks over a lot of years. Believe his real name was Don Kalt. I saw him teaming with a young Greg Valentine (Johnny Fargo) in a faux brother team in the early 1970s. Lots of wild stories about him.

Never saw him in his prime. My only exposure to him was in the '80s when he was pretty much a jobber-to-the-stars on AWA TV.

Is he the one that had a pierced cock in 1972?  He would hammer a nail through his cock into a bench in the dressing room scaring the hell out of everyone?

Isn't there a story about him working in a tag team called the Hell's Angels? Supposedly the real Hell's Angels got wind of it and didn't take kindly to rasslers trading on their name. They ambushed Don and his partner after a show. His partner wound up being seriously injured. Don got away, dropped the gimmick and reinvented himself as something else. Fargo did a shoot interview with Scott Teal, but wouldn't talk about the incident.

I remember hearing that story on a shoot tape (maybe the one with Cornette and Bobby Heenan, can't remember).

All those stories listed above are in the book about Fargo published by Scott Teal about a year ago.

A few years back Fargo told me that he blamed Verne Gagne for setting him up to be ambushed in a Milwaukee suburb by some Hells Angels Bikers. I told him he had to be kidding me but he said the details would be in his book.

What Fargo did say in the book was that the Milwaukee promoter got a call telling him that the bikers were coming after Fargo and his partner when they appeared in Milwaukee but the promotion (this is where he blames Gagne) never told them anything because Gagne hated them. IMO a little hard to believe but Fargo was legit crazy.

The ambush happened in a Milwaukee suburb after a match in Milwaukee where where Fargo and his partner Kenny Mack, who wrestled as The Chain Gang, beat Moose Cholak and Man Mountain Mike. With this win they were to receive an AWA title match against the champs Mad Dog & Butcher Vachon on the next Milwaukee card.

After the match some bikers invited Fargo and Mack to a bikers bar in a Milwaukee suburb where after some drinking they were savagely ambushed. Mack was shot in the leg and never wrestled again. Fargo escaped to the river and swam for a while with the bikers shooting at him in the river.

The Chain Gang were unreal in their day. In the Chicago programs they were pictured with swastikas on their walls and their biker outfits. Their name tags said Judas and Fat Christ.

Their matches with Crusher & Bruiser were absolute bloodbaths at the Amphitheatre and always drew SRO crowds. There are  images from the programs on Google. I'll see if I can dig up my old programs from the day.

I got to talk to Fargo several times because Teal asked me and a few friends (Count Grog among them) for pictures and programs for the book. When you got him on the phone he loved talking and could go on for a long time about wrestling. Absolutely the craziest performer of the time I watched wrestling.

RIP Don Fargo (Kalt)
