TNA has been doing fairly well since moving over to POP.  At the end on Destination America, they were struggling to hit the mid-200,000 range.  Since moving to POP, they started where they left off on DA but then increased viewership each week since.

The live debut on Jan. 5 only did 255,000, but since then they've drawn 288,000, 321,000, and last night 339,000.

So in one month, they're up 100,000 fans again from the dark days on DA.  If they can maintain 350,000 - 400,000 throughout most of the year, I'm sure POP would be thrilled and maybe TNA could be taken seriously again.

The latest episode of TNA Impact. The highlight - the rack on Matt Hardy's wife.

By no means is it good, but I respect that they're finally making a concerted effort to build some young guys like Eli Drake and Crazzy Steve after 2 years of guys just randomly being in the roster for no reason and with no personality, gimmick, mic time, or reason to exist.

Man, did I jinx them. Since writing this post, TNA's ratings have been down almost every week. That 339,000 viewers from Jan. 26 remains their high point and they've slowly but surely shed 100,000+ viewers in the past few weeks. This week's episode, despite the heavily-publicized Kurt Angle retirement match, only drew 222,000. It's their second lowest rating since moving to POP and dangerously close to where they were during the DA days.

I'm just not sure if there's anything they can do at this point. They had some momentum and people were checking them out, but about a third of their audience just didn't feel like the product was good enough to stick with.

Next week will be huge for them as they kick off the next set of tapings with a live episode featuring the return of Jeff Hardy.  If that episode doesn't do any better, they're at DEFCON 5 again.

Its probably because they have been down this road so many times in the past, that fans now expect them to fuck it up and refuse to stay invested long enough to see the start of the fuck up.
