Erick Von Erich wrote: Garvin was sort of the "unofficial fourth Freebird" during the Von Erich/Freebird War (Round One) from 1983 to 1984. Mostly because he was doing his concurrent program with David Von Erich and he would be booked in tag matches with the 'Birds against the Von Erichs (or Iceman). He even appears in the original "Badstreet USA" video. When he officially joined the 'Birds in NWA/WCW, it seemed natural.

Now do they include Angel of Death? I can't remember if he was officially a Freebird or not, circa 1988. Whattabout the masked Badstreet? Big Daddy Dink?

Yeah... probably not those last three.

Angel of Death was one of Buddy Roberts' heel Freebirds in '88 along with Iceman and the Samoan Swat Team.
As you may have guessed, I'm in favor of this induction.

I remember Buddy Roberts managing the SST but I don't remember them being part of the Freebirds faction.

SST came in after the Freebird civil war ended at the 1988 Parade of champions .

I don't have a problem with Garvin going in as a freebird.

The Birds and Garvin teaming together in WCCW.

The Birds helping Garvin and Regal win the AWA World Tag Team Champion

Hayes & Garvin teaming together at Wrestlerock 86 against the Road Warrors, then teaming together for a short while in JCP in 87/88 when Roberts and Gordy left.

Hayes, Garvin & Gordy teaming together for a few months before Gordy Left NWA/WCW.

Roberts was in the corner of Hayes & Garvin for a match or two in NWA/WCW.

Hayes and Garvin
1x- NWA World Tag Team Champions
1x- WCW World Tag Team Champions
2x- United States Tag Team Champions

Gordy and Garvin winning the Global Tag Titles with Hayes in their corner.

Garvin is a Freebird period. Just because he wasn't there at the start doesn't mean he wasn't an integral part of the group.

It would be akin to someone saying Randy Savage wasn't a part of the nWo because he wasn't one of the original three.

Is the match where Ric Flair teamed with Roberts & Gordy against the Von Erichs out there? I never seen it.

Jimmy Garvin was a Freebird so he should be there. And deserves to be in on his own although that wont likely happen. He deserves to be in more so than some others they have put in (The Godfather.Ugh)

Pretty much a perfect case for Garvin and I definitely agree.

I associate the Hayes-Garvin team from the fall of 1989 after Terry Gordy left until splitting in the summer of 1992 as midcard comedy. Given how cool the Freebirds were from 1980 to 1987, it's hard to look at that duo as being the same team. That said, it's the WWE Hall of Fame, so I'm happy Jimmy Garvin will get his moment in the spotlight.

This is one of those "really, they're just getting in now?" moments for me.
