Who can give me information about the Dillinger brothers?  I remember they were the tag team champs in Indianapolis in the late sixties or early seventies and then they were gone

Jack Dillinger = Donald V. Kalt (a.k.a. Don Fargo, et al)
Frank Dillinger = Lawrence K. McMullen (a.k.a. Kenny Mack) Their nickname was "The Chain Gang" and they entered the ring in Hell's Angels jackets.
After winning a match at the Milwaukee Arena on September 13, 1969 (beating Man Mountain Mike and Yukon Moose Cholak), the duo were invited out for beers by unknown persons. They were driven to the Village Inn bar in Rochester, WI in Racine Co., where they were ambushed by motorcycle gang members who did not like them wearing Hell's Angel's colors. They fought their way out of the bar, but McMullen was caught outside, beaten and shot in both legs. Kalt (Fargo) escaped by taking off his boots and diving into the nearby Fox River.
One of the bullets pierced an artery in McMullen's leg and he lost use of it, ending his wrestling career. Fargo's book has a chilling account of what happened that night.

He probably ran into the Outlaws as they were at odds with 81

It was the Outlaws, according to newspaper accounts. Promoter Bob Luce said that the Dillingers also had previous trouble with a motorcycle gang in Indiana.
Years ago, John Lawson, whose father worked for the Indiana state athletic commission, told me that the commission actually helped to find housing for them in Plainfield, IN to keep them out of harm's way from the gangs.
