Just learned that Major Duke George passed away today at home in Las Vegas.
George managed The Valiant Brothers during their second run in the WWA and Chicago.
Great guy who lived life to the fullest.
RIP Duke!

I actually traded messages back and forth for a few days with him last week. I found an old WWA mag that had him on the cover and I sent it to him. He thanked me and we BSed a bit about his WWA days.
This came completely out of the blue and I'm shocked.

I have been told that Duke recently fell and died of heart failure yesterday. I just talked to him a couple weeks ago. He as looking for a wrestling magazine that featured an article I had written about him. It was a Wrestling News AWA edition from 1978 wth the story called The Major vs The Photos. I sent it to him as he wanted it for his grandson. He will be missed.

I have lots of photos I took of him. Is there a way to post to the site?

Welcome John

To post a photo simply reply to a post or start a new thread. Look down and see the 'browse' button. Tap that and find the desired photo on your system. Once the photo is in the 'browse' window just hit reply.

Also, you may even be able to copy and paste photos off the internet and have them turn out just fine. Not as reliable as above but it does work more often than not.

Is the "browse" button you are speaking about is "ChooseFile"?
I do not see a browse button.

Mine says browse too.  I guess it depends on your browser, ironically enough.

Duke was my uncle.  Do you have photos that you are willing to part with?

Welcome aboard John.
Your articles and fanzines were the best back in the day with the coverage of our area.
Glad you were able to get Duke his magazine.I sent him an old Wrestling Monthly which he was featured in.

Hi john I used to cover FW for your fanzine back then. I vaguely remembered the article about Duke vs. the pictures.

Hi, I just joined this site in order to respond to this thread. I am Duke's daughter, Katie. It is true of his passing on 7/6/16 just a few weeks shy of his 70th birthday. It was a shock to us all and he will be greatly missed. If anyone has picture or things that they wouldn't mind sharing I am planning a Celebration of Life for him in August. I would love even to just see pictures or articles via email.

Thanks!!
Katie

I was wondering if that was you! My mom and Dawn said that they thought it was. I actually have a wrestling album and would be happy to email you some or I can make you copies. Tammy and your mom have my number or if you are on Facebook? My email is jacobsmommy24@gmail.com
