This is outstanding. Do you have any results for the 1987-90 period as the promotion slid down the drain?

Thank you for these additional results. Somewhere there are results for a card the by then World Pacific Wrestling promotion put on in either late 1986 or early 1987 at the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu that featured Bruiser Brody, Kevin Sullivan, Mark Lewin, I think The Sheik, and at least a couple of New Japan guys. The results ran in PWI. I have the edition stored someplace, but can't currently locate it.

The November 1988 cards were promoted by Dunbar Wakayama, a Hawaii radio DJ and voiceover guy for commercials and such who at one time was one of the TV announcers for the Polynesian Pacific promotion. His attempt at running these cards led to allegations of an attempted strong arming by Lia Maivia, Lars Anderson, and Ati So'o that resulted in their arrests. No one was ever convicted or plead guilty to any charges. They were said to have threatened Wakayama, who went to the authorities, with violence if he didn't rent their ring, buy ad time on their TV show, paid them a booking fee as a cut for running in their territory, and possibly use some of their wrestlers on the cards.

Thanks cman73.

Believe it or not, the show on my mind is a different one entirely that probably occurred not long after this date. It included, if memory serves correct, a pole battle royal won by Superfly Tui to determine the first World Pacific Wrestling Champion. I think Brody and Tui faced off against Sullivan and Lewin too among other matches.

Thanks Tamale, I was going through my magazines yesterday cause I know I've seen those results you're referring to. Will look some more tomorrow. I believe they were in the results section of Pro Wrestling Illustrated.

Found it...I think..was in the June 1987 PWI (The one with Magnum TA on the cover in the hospital)  Not sure of the date.  Need to check my Inside Wrestling Magazines to see if they have it, but I'm thinking it was sometime in January 1987, or early February.

Superfly Tui won $25,000 and the World Pacific Heavyweight Title by climbing a 30 foot - 20 man Battle Royal
Adrian Street d. Mr. B
Bruiser Brody and Superfly Tui d. Kevin Sullivan and Mark Lewin
Tor Kamata and Hiro Sasaki d. The Strong Machine I and The Strong Machine II
The Samoan Connection (Farmer Boy Ipo and Leroy Brown) d. Dusty Wolfe and Alex Knight
Debbie Combs d. Donna Day
The Medic d. Miro
Joe Solo DREW Robert Toronto

That's the card. Thanks cman73.

I don't think Tor Kamata and Hiro Sasaki had wrestled in several years.

Junji Hirata was presumably one of the Strong Machines. Who was the other?

Looking at the change in the name of the promotion as well as some of the talent turnover, it would appear a new booker came in during early 1987.

You're welcome, Tamalie!
I'm not sure who the second Strong Machine was. I think Riki Bassan was the second Strong Machine in New Japan 1984?

Anyone else have any more results from Hawaii from this time period (1984-1988).

Always found them to be rare.

Would love to add to the results I have for Kevin Sullivan
