Some great events early. It seemed like once they got away from 'Thanksgiving Night' and went with tournaments and 'Battlebowls' that it wasn't the same.

The first five were great in my book.

Put me down for 1987 as my favorite. You had Flair beating Garvin for the belt.

Dusty beating Luger for the US title (and you knew right away when Dusty pinned Luger after DDTing him on a chair that JJ Dillon threw in the cage, that the beginning of the end of Luger and the Horseman was coming)

Road Warriors vs Tully & Arn. Midnights vs Rock & Rolls.

Lots of respect for 1983 also.

1988 w/ 1987 a close second

1993 and 1985 both each have 2 really good matches but too much crap

1989 Could been the best Starcade ever with the roster they had but screwed it up with the round robin tournament.

86 for me as I was a huge fan of the Koloff turn leading up to it. Also, the Dusty/Tully first blood match is one of my fav finishes ever.

RnR vs. Andersons rounded it all out.

This is blowing me away. I always thought I was in the minority because I liked 1987. One reason was that it was held in Chicago, but I loved Flair getting the belt back, the UWF intertwined with the NWA, Luger's turn, the Roadies (even if they ending to that match was a bad move). It seems like Meltzer and others always crapped on that show.

Every other year I try to watch Starrcade '87 and Survivor Series '87 on the same night on Thanksgiving. I might try Starrcade '88 and SSeries '88 this year. Those were golden times to be a wrestling fan growing up.

1993 was a really good one with Flair vs. Vader, Steamboat vs. Regal, and Austin vs. Rhodes.

I may have a different perspective for the simple fact that living just outside of Greensboro I never missed a Thanksgiving night show at the coliseum from 1980 to 1988, but for me the 2 best were '83 and '85, with a slight nod towards '83 as that night had not only the NWA title and the tag title changing hands, but also the Piper vs Valentine dog collar match.

'85 had the greatest Starrcade match ever as far as I am concerned with the Magnum TA vs Tully Blanchard I quit match, I saw front row for that one and those guys literally beat the Holy Hell out of each other.

After Crockett and Big fat Dusty dcided to take a shit on their loyal fans and moved Starrcade to Yankke doodle land I really stopped giving a damn about it to be honest, went few more years just out of habit, and drove to Charlotte for '93 to see Flair vs Vader, but the best times were from 1980-1985, even though '80-'82 were not yet called Starrcade.

83 would be 2nd on my list. The early Starrcades were tremendous.

I think '83 is an incredibly overrated event with a downright mediocre Flair-Race main event, maybe the worst match they ever had against each other.  Gene Kiniski ruins the match as special referee by trying to upstage both of them and get one more moment in the spotlight.  He basically didn't let them touch each other and was shoot reffing.  But the whole event just falls flat to me.

1986, it was also the first Starrcade I was aware of. It was fun watching the World Championship Wrestling shows lead up to the event on WWE Network.
Also did the same thing for Starrcade '88, another favorite card though it was really just priming the pump for a great 1989.
