He's doing a Hitman gimmick. Clearly Jarrett and Bruce Prichard had fired up their old PS2 and just discovered that game.

Christina Von Eerie should be appearing as they tape the rest of the shows this weekend. She's the GFW Women's Champ. I look forward to her vs. Rosemary since they both look like freaks.

TNA should do more of these.

The only problem is that Storm was given a title shot despite no momentum toward it. They have made Alberto, Magnus, and EC3 all seem like bigger deals. It's not worse than Jinder Mahal out of nowhere at least. But you knew Storm had no shot.

I disagree, I think it's much worse.  Jinder won a match to become #1 contender. A match he shouldn't have been in, but he won it nonetheless. I'll go along with that, especially the way it was booked. Upsets can happen. What TNA did is take a guy who was famously and publicly de-pushed (they even low-balled him on his contract extension when he briefly went to NXT because he "didn't deserve main event money based on his current position in the company") and then tried to get us to forget the last year of the awful DCC gimmick that never fit him, and made up an Internet polll that couldn't have possibly happened given the taping schedule. TNA makes WWE's bookers look like geniuses.

It's from WrestleKingdom 7 in 2013:

No way. Jinder was literally a jobber, then cut, came back, and was a jobber again. Storm at least was a former champ and been around. DCC was stupid, but at least he has a past. The equivalent would be if Mahabali Shera suddenly was made #1 contender because he won that 6-man a few weeks ago and they needed to impress people in India. I take that back because I expect that to happen now.

That's completely accurate from a smark point of view, I'm just saying it happens in real life so I am willing to suspend my disbelief. Matt Serra was a scrub who earned a title shot by winning The Ultimate Fighter against other scrubs, then absolutely shocked GSP to win the Welterweight title. He was never "pushed" and was never considered a serious contender. We have certain expectations for wrestling booking since we all accept that it's bullshit, but this happens in real sports. TNA is insulting our intelligence with fake polls on taped shows while WWE actually booked something that is conceivable. As far as the logic of promoting a PPV based on a Jinder Mahal title shot, that's a different story. And yes, James Storm is superior to him in every way.

Matt Sydal debuted last night since he possibly has nowhere else to go. Instead of unifying the GFW belts, they have them being defended. So if this keeps up, we have 7 champions on a promotion with a limited roster. Josh Matthews had HR suspend Borash and got his job back. Even though he lost a match where the stip was that he would leave the position. I'll keep watching just because it's on a good night for me, but that shows how tone deaf they are.

Well I will say this, at least Sydal is an actual name indy star even if he was signed only because his drug history has burned his bridges everywhere else and left him banned from a country. Only in TNA could that be considered a step in the right direction, but he brings desperately needed talent to a roster that has been decimated and consists of dozens of low-level interchangeable indy scrubs with names like Santana, Rodriguez, and Smith, none of whom I remember a thing about 5 seconds after their segment ends.

Santana and Ortiz made me laugh until I read that was actually their names. Nice try by them Thursday night at FINALLY trying to introduce them to the audience, as no one had any idea why it was Konnan and Homicide, 2 random guys, and a girl with a butter face.

This has been a problem and they sort of addressed this. They have run packages on almost every random guy that has appeared. But they run them on YouTube!!! I watch this show live nearly every week, but I'm not clicking on their YouTube account every day to see a video explaining who Mario Bokara and Idris Abraham are. You need to run these on the show. I'm  wondering how many people are employed with this too, since I think it may literally be Borash and that cute interview girl McKenzie.

Who is there really to sign though? WWE is signing people like it's 1998 WCW, with rumor being now that Crazy Steve is going to NXT. ROH is leaning on Ken Anderson to help sell tickets to a Midwest show. New Japan has lost Honma and Shibata probably forever in just a few months. Like I said before, I think Impact really needs to take time out and introduce every single person, and do it on the show; not just on their website; not just on YouTube.

There are some major young prospects out there like Matt Riddle, big names from the UK indy scene which hasn't been his hot in decades, recent departures from ROH, etc. There's talent out there. I could go through last year's PWI 500 and find literally 2 dozen unsigned guys who could legitimately wrestle for TNA who would excite me more than Random Hispanic Dude #16 and Bitch Tits Magee, or whatever their names are. I understand some of these guys are ending up contracted to EVOLVE now, but that's no excuse. If you can't sign talent away from EVOLVE then you fucking suck.

But yes, video packages on the actual shows are essential. Talent and personality would help too. Announcers who put them over instead of arguing with each other would be fantastic, but you can't have everything.

Here's hoping TNA brings Stevie Ray in to help Borash and we'll have that Scott Steiner-Stevie Ray feud we all so longed for in WCW.

Other than the announcer thing I've enjoyed the last few weeks of Impact a lot. IMO they're heading in a good direction..

Is Joseph Parks the alter-ego of Abyss?
