|Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa and Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen have been named the Players of the Week in the American and National League, respectively.
Correa slashed .520/.571/1.040 over the last week to earn the honor and help the Astros secure home-field advantage through at least the American League Division Series against the Boston Red Sox. He also chipped in with three home runs and 10 RBIs in 25 at-bats.
Though the Pirates had already been eliminated from the postseason race, McCutchen still had an impressive individual week. The center fielder recorded a .471/.526/1.000 slash line from Sept. 26 to Oct. 1 and hit two home runs in 17 at-bats during the final week of the regular season.
