I've never found a 100% confirmation that it happened, such as, a match listing. People have speculated that it happened in the AWA during Flair's rookie year. What I don't get is that both guys had pretty good prime years in the late-70s and early-80s in the same areas and you'd think that they'd have met a number of times. But I don't think they did...which is really weird.

it may have happened in flairs rookie days in the AWA. Muraco wrestled in the Mid atlantic and Georgia area in 1982 when Flair was champ but Muraco was a heel most of that time and flair was a heel most of that time too other than in Toronto. but who knows there may be a undiscovered result somewhere in that time frame. I doubt it but it would be great to find that.
