Very historical show for another reason - it was there in the locker room that Terry Funk told Brian Pillman that if he wanted the people to believe his gimmick, he needed to live his gimmick 24/7 and not break from it. This is what truly gave birth to the Loose Cannon, as he was just a Rogue Horseman at the time.

Never heard that story before. Pretty cool if it happened.

I heard this many years ago - the only people in wrestling who truly knew what was going on with Brian Pillman around this era were Bruce Hart and Terry Funk because they had a very long conversation with Pillman either before or after this show regarding how to pull it off.  Even Steve Austin didn't know the full story until later on.  The whole "Loose Cannon" persona was built to try to keep Pillman wrestling and earning money because he was way too banged up to be Flyin' Brian, but also not big enough in size or stature to challenge a guy like Hulk Hogan for the WCW title.

Were Benoit and Pillman officially "WCW" guys at this time? If so, one of those rare shows with guys from both companies working at the same time

Yes, I believe they were both with the Horsemen at this time too.  Benoit was still getting loaned out to NJPW a lot though.

This show was about a month before the Bookerman incident.  And Arn came out to fight Sullivan after Pillman bailed on the match.
