There's no way on God's green Earth that Obama Care is going to get better by 2018. In fact, premiums will probably get higher. The Republicans can go back to their constituents and say "we tried". What can the Dems tell their constituents?
Which party will benefit now that Obama Care stays?

How can the Republicans say they tried? If they had honestly tried, the would have been able to get some real legislation passed. All they did was piss in the wind.

Well, they did try to give billions in tax breaks to the wealthy.

To me if the Trump and the GOP can't do the repeal, than all his bullshit about him touting how easy it would be, comes off as him being impotent.

We're well past that point. It's already happened. He couldn't repeal and replace, and he couldn't even just repeal. He did dick. His response now is to let it die a natural death, which could've happened under anyone from either party because Obamacare sucks. He's literally admitted to being as good as nothing.

Reports are that some markets have already began to stabilize over last year.

Nonetheless, claiming that Congress tried is a good laugh. That weird world that BT lives in where everything he has to say is "fake news" is astounding.

Republicans have given up on repealing Obamacare despite Trump's tweet storms and are moving on.

The R's take more of a hit because they control both chambers and the White House.  They have managed to upset their own voters and cause the opposition to get very enthusiastic.  That is extremely difficult to do.
Obamacare does suck.  It needs to be fixed.  The fixes aren't that hard to do but both sides have to bend on the idealistic bullshit a little bit.  Neither side seems to be willing so here we are.
For the record, I think Trumpcare would have been worse than Obamacare and that the R's are probably a little better off not passing it.  By 20, the disaster would have been fully felt. This way, they can let time work to their advantage and implement a couple of fixes to shore up that market.  Of course, the rhetoric will continue on both sides.
I also find it funny that the R's spent 7 years accusing the D's of not being transparent.  Then, when it was their turn, they wouldn't even hold committee meetings and the President had zero clue what the bill was about.  All he could say was nonsense like "we will have big, beautiful healthcare".
We are the laughingstock of the world now.

Good post.

Somebody needs to have the balls to go against the lobbyists and address the problem: the insurance companies.
It will never happen.
