Ronda Rousey and WWE -- a relationship that many have expected to blossom into a marriage for quite some time.

It would appear that is moving forward, or at least Ronda Rousey is entertaining the idea. Fightful.com was told Tuesday morning that Ronda Rousey has expressed interest in a pro wrestling run, and has went as far as to learn some of the basics from a WWE Superstar.

An employee backstage in WWE told us that Rousey spoke to Triple H to set up her appearance with fellow Four Horsewomen members at the Mae Young Classic. According to sources, WWE had referred Rousey and company to current superstar Brian Kendrick for training purposes in Southern California. You may remember that WWE had referred recently released Eva Marie to Kendrick as well.

There was also buzz backstage at the tournament -- mainly among WWE employees and contractors -- that Rousey's training would start soon. She's taken some basic bumps among other things thus far.

The pro wrestling connections with Ronda Rousey are strong, as if she needed them. Her "Four Horsewomen" friend Marina Shafir is engaged to NXT's Roderick Strong, Jessamyn Duke has started her training, and Shayna Baszler is in the Mae Young Classic.

Rousey appeared at WWE WrestleMania 31, Summerslam 2014, and even an AIW event last year.

The "big announcement" that Rousey has teased on her official website may or may not have anything to do with this -- we've not been given any information to indicate either way.

Rousey last competed in MMA at UFC 207 in December, losing in quick fashion to Amanda Nunes.

She's nuts if she doesn't try it. She'll keep all her heat and make boatloads of cash. She's certainly no delicate little flower so the bumps should be no problem. Make hay while the sun shines Rousey Ronda.

Would you book her as 'a female Brock' or do you think that ship has sailed with how her last 2 UFC bouts went?

More like Shamrock. Ken came in with a huge legit rep but he was so good at transitioning to pro wrestling that he made his matches believable. Brock looks like a superhuman cartoon character so being a monster is totally believable. I don't think they would do that with Rousey Ronda.

She should work with an unbeaten (from this point forward) Nia Jax at Wrestlemania.

Shamrock was a pro-wrestler before be was in UFC, though. Brock spent over a year in OVW and in WWE dark matches before he bade his TV debut. I don't think that WWE would have the patience to put Ronda in a year's worth of untelevised Florida NXT shows for a year. She'll probably have her first match live on a TakeOver show.

Paul "Triple H" Levesque was interviewed by CBS Sports concerning online rumors that former UFC Champion Ronda Rousey was training for a WWE debut.

About Rousey attenting the Mae Young Tournament taping Levesque said, "I don't know that I ever once looked out at the crowd and saw her without this ear-to-ear grin on her face. She was like a little kid after every break there would be when I would talk to her -- like a little kid. What that means? Unsure. What that means down the line? I think she's unsure."

But as to whether she is training to appear for WWE, Levesque said, "I think [Rousey] is in a transition period in her life and is in a great place. I think she's getting married soon or something. Look, she has got a lot going on, but I'm all about creating opportunities. That's what the Mae Young Classic is all about -- creating opportunities for these women that they never had before. If Ronda Rousey wants that opportunity, I'd be happy to talk to her about it."

Excellent points. Hard to believe but Brock's been around over 15 years now. It was a whole different game back then and like you said, they probably don't have the patience to bring someone up slowly to learn the craft. Fuck you Vince. Also Thanks Obama.

Hahaha.
I'd book her more like Brock. The goal is to make some money off of her, so you'd want to mirror the one that has been a great success rather than one that was a minor success.
Shamrock was treated as just another guy once he debuted. So the fans took to him like just another guy, so he didn't mean anything. Treat Ronda Rousey the way she should be treated. The one that broke box office and pay per view records and garnered world wide attention.

Maybe three years ago that would have been a huge formula for success as Rousey Ronda had an aura of invincibility. After getting her clock cleaned twice, wouldn't it be more realistic to have her come in as someone trying to make her way up the ladder in the sports entertainment game rather than a Brock type monster?

Maybe if this was the Kayfabe Era, but I don't think that matters much anymore.  You could job her out and prove that the WWF Divas are way tougher than UFC women, but the point is to make money off of her so I say build her as a monster and hope she can become a draw.

Ronda Rousey oozes charisma and in an interview situation cannot be beaten by any chick in UFC - and most men too. But I shudder to think of how she will do with a live mic in her hands at Raw, especially if they make her a heel. If she's a heel, she needs Heyman to handle her. Because I just don't see her getting over on a live mic with a crowd that's giving her shit.

I think the WWE Universe would shit all over her if they booked her like Brock.
