I was watching "The AWA Collection" on Youtube.  I'm in 1984 and cruising along quite nicely.

Blackwell and Patera as Tag Champs.  Ventura and Saito hit Baron with a board.  Then there is a match that is way out of place.  It says it's from March of 84, but Blackwell is a face teaming with The High Flyers vs. The Road Warriors and Ellering.
It doesn't seem like AWA TV and I'm not sure who the announcers are.  Any help on that?  Any other info about this match would be great.

Then the collection goes back to the correct order.  Was Blackwell a face as early as March, or is the match listing incorrect?  Going from the memory as a 12/13 year old that doesn't feel right to me, but my memory is hazy.
Baron still has to return from injury, feud with Ventura, Saito, and eventually Blackwell.  Then he and Crusher have to win the belts.  Shiek needs to bring in Brody and Abdullah and then Blackwell turns face.  Maybe the early stuff really isn't in 84.
I turn this mystery over to the expertise of the forum.

According to WrestlingData.com, there was a Blackwell & High Flyers vs Road Warriors & Ellering in January 1985. It looks like the Road Warriors were in Georgia Championship for all of March 1984.

The St. Paul battle royal marking the face turn for Blackwell was June 10, 1984. Claw's AWA thread might help with other specific cards.

That seems right.  I have a faint memory of watching the BR beat down and it was summer time.

That match is from 1985 and it's likely from Winnipeg. Probably Ken Resnick and Blackjack Lanza on commentary but I'd have to see the match again to be sure.

I think you are correct on Lanza.  I thought it may have been him, or Ole Anderson.  He mentions wrestling Greg in tag matches, so I bet it is Lanza.

That Ventura/Saito and Baron angle with the board was a watershed moment in my young AWA fandom. I had only been watching about a year or two at the most and had never attended a house show and certainly didnt have cable. That was the first time I saw a "name" or non-jobber guy go against other name guys on TV. To see something like that on free tv was unbelievable at the time, as silly as it sounds. That's how protected the business was and how protected house shows were. Young 11 year old Blazer was popping about Saito and Ventura against Baron and Kenny fucking J. I remember I went down and told my parents and made them watch the replay (they weren't fans, but my mom remembered Verne Gagne so she kinda knew who Greg Gagne was on the run-in). But yeah, seeing them take out Baron and then Brunzell and then Gagne all on free Sunday morning television was surreal at the time.
