Nats had bases loaded and no outs and couldn't get more runs. Pirates up 5-4.

WTF?! The Nationals are down 5-4 to the Pirates in the top of the 4th and the manager (Dusty Baker) put in a substitute for Ryan Zimmerman so Zimmerman could get a standing ovation coming off the field. Doesn't Dusty realize what this game means!!!??? :)

Go Nats! Go Reds! Go As!

Now Baker just pulled Anthony Rendon in the top of the 5th. Dusty is gonna cost me any chance of winning this game! He is the worst manager in baseball!!! :)

The Nationals - Pirates game looks like it is going to devolve into a battle of the benches. Both teams have gone to their bullpens and they have started pulling their starters. The Pirates have pulled McCutcheon.

Do the Cubs even have a team on the field today? Yahoo's GameChannel program only lists B. Zobrist and F. Pena as the lineup.

Dusty Baker is making it easier for you. He just pulled Bryce Harper in the 8th, Nats down by 2.

Congrats Blazer - Mr. Baseball 2017!

Thank you Beej for running this contest and everyone who played along. It was a lot of fun and made a usually boring baseball season a lot more exciting! I can't wait for April 2018!

Let me just say, after carrying the title that proclaimed me Mr. Hockey 2016-2017, I’m gonna tell you all, with a tear IN MY EYE, this is the greatest moment in my life. When you walk around in this life and you tell everybody you’re number one, the only way you get to stay number one, is to be number one. And this is the ONLY.. title.. in the Sport & Wrestling wrestling world that makes you number one. When you are the king of S&W, you rule the world, Think about it like that. But I gotta tell you like this, for the Lobo's, and the Big Garea Fan's, and the Benlen's and the Beej's, now it's Blazer and you all... pay homage.... to the man, Whoooo! I love it. I love it. I love it!

That's how MLB scheduled it so all contending teams would use a competitive lineup. Suppose team A & team B are fighting for the last playoff spot. Team A leads team B in the standings by one game.
If team B plays a day game & loses, team A (which plays a night game ) makes the post season.  Team A would then just play their September callups & bench warmers while the rest of the team gets drunk.

Congrats Blazer on your victory & congrats to BGF on your second half surge. BGF came out of nowhere to make it a 3 man race. And thanks to Beej for organizing the contest.

I believe these are the final standings.

Blazer 15
Lobo 14
Big Garea Fan 14
Benlen 5
Beejmi 4
Grog 1
