The current issue of SI has a really good article on midget wrestling, focusing on Hornswoggle’s journey on the indy circuit as well as the Micro Wrestling Federation.  It’s not at all condescending and it’s well-researched.  It briefly gets into the origins of midget wrestling with Jack Britton controlling their bookings and goes through the WMIII match with King Kong Bundy and the midgets, before talking about the modern era and political correctness. Short Sleeve Sampson calls out liberal college douchebags who’s protests over his “exploitment” have led to him being dropped from bookings and have taken food off his plate. Good read.

Didn’t realize it was online too. I don’t know why anyone still pays for physical copies. Thanks for posting.

Konsycho was my favourite midget wrestler. A shame they overlooked him, but if you don't crouch that's to be expected.

My fond memories of Konsycho:

Climbing up a Palm Tree during an outdoor match and dropping a Randy Savage elbow on his opponent, Vernon Rostraver.

Using a Frozen Pizza in a match, which after hitting his opponent on the head with, ate a big chunk out of it.

Winning a Two Ring Midget Battle Royale where the winner supposedly got 2 SUV's.

Don't forget the Mon Valley death match with Jeff St. John.

Classic rib - his legs weren't long enough to reach the gas pedal.

Total squash. St. John is a bum's bum.

I do. I subscribed last year when my Cubs won the World Series to get the special print and commemorative issue and then re-upped when a kid I coach was selling magazines for cheap through school.

I probably won't get it after this next year expires, though.

I get SI for $2 every 6 months.  I signed up years ago to this deal and every time I try to cancel they just give it to me again.
