WWE has added a "Walk the Aisle" VIP ticket for upcoming live events which includes a seat in the first four rows on the aisle, a chance to "walk the aisle" before the show, a photo of yourself inside the ringside area before the show, three "exclusive" pieces of merchandise, a signed item, a program, and more perks.

Back in the mid 1990s, when business was really bad during the New Generation Era, the then WWF did lots of similar things. There were fans, usually kids, as guest ring announcers. More meet and greet, autograph sessions. Fans getting to second wrestlers for matches. Merchandise giveaways. If there are people who will buy this VIP package and it will get fans more involved in general, it's a good idea.

There was an episode of superstars were the guest ring announcer said weighing in at 252 LB’s (instead of pounds). Lawler was busting a gut laughing so hard

I'm really interested in what's included in the Paige VIP package.

Standard business strategy when you are finding it hard to get new customers is to try to get more money out of your current customers.

Maybe fans could shower with the wrestlers, too.

This is true.  You have your rabid fan base already there in the building coming to a live event, it makes sense to "upsell" them.  It's free money.  It's amazing to me how of the hardcore fans will pay ridiculous prices for just a little extra.  This happens at concerts all the time, small concerts at 500 seat venues with guys whose heydays were 30 years ago, but after you buy your relatively cheap $20 ticket, for another $30-$50 you can enter the venue first (as if there's a mad rush anyway), get a poster, and take a picture.  That's it.  All of that is worth maybe 50 cents in practical terms, but it makes these guys a ton of extra money.

When I was a kid you could run up and hock a loogie on the heels when the babyfaces threw them out of the ring during the matches. It all came with the price of admission.

But truthfully if West was handling live events that would be a positive. There was a time when West was doing a helluva a job hosting events, and saw merchandise levels and fan interest increase.

WWE would be wise to borrow some ideas from independent promoters. Meet and greets can be extremely profitable.
