Cool, thank you. I'm going to watch it now. It's been years since I watched this MSG card.

I just notice that they are showing clips of that cards matches in the intro. So this was not shown live? How long after was was this aired. Pretty stupid as they ruined the Backlund-Valentine match by showing the freaking finish during the shows intro.

USA network normally showed them a few days after, even sometimes up to 2 to 3 weeks after. They did the same thing with the January 84 show, showing clips of Hogan pinning the Sheik right before the match started. But yeah that sucks for big fans who may not know the results, but notice the finishes in the opening credits. After getting caught seeing that once, I think I'd close my eyes when the credits come on. ![]()

Question: is that the legit audio? Or did somebody run that through a converter and magnify what Chief Jay was saying? Because while I believe that happened, I can’t possibly believe USA would be stupid enough to play that 3 weeks or more after it was live. I remember these days, didn’t have a VCR so I would re-watch these whenever I could. MSG sometimes showed a repeat 1-2 times, but you could always count on USA. By the time 1985 came around, MSG would show replays when the Yankees were rained out, but in ‘84 they were still on Sportschannel.

Richter was working heel here, so it's kind of fun that they paired her with Lauper as "the chosen one" a few months later. Was this Rocky Johnson's birthday? (Maybe Atlas?) I have an audio interview promoting a 6 man, & Schultz says "Where I come from it's customary to tie someone up on their birthday and whip em with a belt one time for every year of their age. After we're done with Johnson we're gonna pretend that it's Tony Atlas' birthday too. Then we're gonna tie up Ivan Putski and make him whip himself." I'm guessing in modern times you wouldn't have a souther redneck saying he was going to tie up black men and whip them. I'm pretty sure the Putski line is referencing him being a dumb Pollack who would whip himself.
