The wide field should help him but you have to wonder what kind of condition he is in mentally and physically.

It will be as big a farce as Saskatchewan signing Vince Young. I predict he will have been released by mid season if not soon. He doesn't want to play football but he wants the star quarterback lifestyle which he thinks he is.

Johnny Manziel’s comeback begins this spring.
The former NFL quarterback announced Wednesday morning that he’s joining The Spring League, an elite developmental league and scouting event based in Texas.
Back in Texas where it all started. I'll be joining @TheSpringLeague in Austin to get #ComebackSZN started! Can't wait to get back on the field and show NFL scouts what I can do! #cantwaitforspring pic.twitter.com/zMk5223HCc
— Johnny Manziel (@JManziel2) February 14, 2018

The league’s aim is to help professional-level talent showcase their skills during a two-month season that begins in March.
Johnny Manziel reports to the Spring League on March 28, and the season ends April 15… in time to attend a team's OTAs if it works out. More than 20 teams are expected to attend practices and games to scout him and others.
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) February 14, 2018

Manziel, 25, opened up earlier this week about his struggles with alcohol abuse and a recent bipolar diagnosis, and said his priority is to return to professional football. The 2014 first-round pick of the Cleveland Browns was plagued by off-field issues over the course of his two NFL seasons and was eventually cut by the Browns in 2016.
Rumours of Manziel joining the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats were circulating earlier this year, but no deal was made.

He’s just getting back into game shape so he’s ready for the XFL.

Latest is that he's undergoing "concussion protocol", but he says it's his prescription meds:
http://www.tmz.com/2018/08/15/johnny-manziel-montreal-alouettes-quarterback-practice-concussion/

I don't know if this is sad or just odd, but some Texas A&M alum have plans to go to Montreal, for the sole reason of seeing Manziel. I'll agree that Manziel was a lot of fun to watch... in 2012.

I get that Aggies (even those who never played football) are loyal... so I'm surprised that they're not traveling to Full Sail University to watch Keith Lee.

He got absolutely crushed trying to get into the endzone last week. Fumbled the ball and to the surprise of most he stayed in the game even though he looked like someone who was drinking well past closing time in a bar.
Don't think he completed a pass after that and the Alouettes didn't get another first down.
Alouettes down to some fourth stringer whose name I can't even remember.
Some beer coolers should be set up in Montreal in the even the Alouettes win another game. Pretty sure those beers never get touched.
