He's best known for college football, but he was someone who could literally call anything, which cannot be said for most announcers.

The first Monday Night Football play by play
Called baseball at ABC
Was ABCs NBA guy in the early 70s
Did college basketball. I watched a YouTube clip of him calling a buzzer beater where Illinois beat Indiana in 1989. Unfortunately, Dukie V screamed and yelled over him
