Meltzer is reporting that Raw could move to FOX when their deal with USA expires in 2019, which would be a pretty positive move. This could also mean specials on Fox Sports 1, which might be attractive if they don’t retain the rights to UFC. There have already been preliminary talks between Vince and HHH and FOX officials, although they’re in the very early stages of negotiation.  Any move to FOX would necessitate Raw scaling back to 2 hours to accommodate the 10:00 PM news. Meltzer is already speculating that this time reduction would possibly see the cancellation of 205 Live, which is struggling, or at the very least mean the removal of the Cruiserweights from ever appearing on Raw. Virtually any deal outside of staying with USA would probably mean the same thing then since it’s really USA that has always pushed for a 3 hour show.

Interesting. Wonder How Vince's relationship with Rupert Murdoch is?
The broadcast FOX network, FS1/FS1 and Fox News are not part of the upcoming 21st Century Fox-Disney/ABC merger. The FX nets, regional Fox Sports nets and just about every other Fox asset are, including the libraries and their share in Hulu and Sky.
Expectations are that the remaining assets will eventually be merged into News Corp proper - possibly losing the FOX branding along the way.

Looks like a leverage move to me.

Raw moving back to 2 hours sounds like a better show in any case.

Why would they cancel 205 live if raw is reduced to 2hrs? 205 live is produced at smackdown events.

Instead of totally removing the cruisers from raw they should just make them brand neutral and plug them into raw or smackdown as needed.

Plus, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't 205 shown exclusively on the Network?

Like Superstars before it, 205 Live is sold for TV broadcast in other countries, as is NXT.

The bottom line is that if 205 Live was performing they’d find a way, but it’s not. I think someone posted here a few months ago about how much crap on WWE Network was drawing far more viewers. But the Cruiserweights are considered Raw stars.

Gotcha...but unless those other countries are using some variation of Fox to televise 205, wouldn't it still be a moot point?

The point being that a 2 hour Raw wouldn't have time for the cruiserweights, which would have to have some impact on 205 Live.

There has been discussion about FOX being interesting in purchasing WWE outright. There's more to it than just rumors too from what I understand.

However if WWE ends up on FOX. Look for them to increase the number of hours of on FOX Networks, not less than they are producing now. While 205 Live may go away, or a third hour of RAW. They will want the same number of hours of programming.

If a 2hr Raw doesn’t have time for the cruisers and 205 live gets cancelled do they all become jobbers or does the E just cut bait on them all? What does that do to the NXT skinny guys? Fish, Strong, Rush and others? They will all be 205 type guys without a place to go.

If the WWE went to Fox, it should look to be on FX or at least FXX. Going to FS1 would be a bad move. The network has UFC, but not much in the way of must see programming due to having no NFL, no NBA, and its MLB games being devalued by the sheer volume of content available apart from the postseason. FX was the #15 rated cable network for 2017. USA was #4. FS1 wasn't in the top 30.

To add to the above, FX goes to #6 when you measure the 18-49 adult demo. USA was #2. FS1 was not in the top 30.
