Like it or hate it?

In theory the extra week makes for better preparation and rested players.

There is a lot of set up on the ground for Super Bowl week that needs the extra time, especially since the Vikings' practice facility will be used by one of the teams and had Atlanta beaten the Eagles then the NFC Championship Game would have been at the same venue as the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl has gone with one week instead of two a few times, but I get why they do it and it seems to have little impact on the quality of and interest in the game.

As a super die-hard fan in the 80's and 90's, I hated it. Nowadays, don't give a darn. It amuses me how the extra week sometimes allows time for players to do more TV appearances...and other silly stuff (see: Robinson, Eugene, January 1999).

Oh...and hey, don't forget this weekend's PRO BOWL!

Blast.. just realized I forgot to send out party invites.

The extra week of hype is annoying and I usually just want them to get it over with. I have less interest in this Super Bowl than I have in many years. I think I watched maybe 5 full games this season: 4 early Broncos games when it became apparent they were going to suck this year, and then the Pats-Jags AFC Championship Game. That's about it. It's harder than ever to get through a complete game these days.

I find that all sports are hyped so much these days, especially football with so much time between weekly games, that the hype of the Super Bowl barely registers with me.
