Work. Remember Booker wants to run for mayor.

I think it maybe got too congested on commentary because anytime Graves set up a line by addressing Cole, Booker must have flashed back to his first WCW gimmick, and the result was two guys responding at once.

Booker T. is now using this to promote his show.  He tweeted this:

I’m going to address all of the news from this past week on my show tomorrow. There’s been a lot of things said and I’d like to publicly invite @WWEGraves to call in and clear the air.

Dry your eyes, Dave Scherer. You are not a journalist, by the way.

pwinsider:

Booker T had Corey Graves on his radio show "Heated Conversations" today to clear the air after Booker's comments from last week, where he blamed Graves for him losing his spot on Monday Night Raw. Right off the bat, Booker and Corey said it was all a work. They said it was kind of curious because they said none of the reporters contacted them to ask about. To that I would respond, reporters posted your words Booker, so that doesn't make it fake news as you assert. And Corey please give all of the reporters your phone number and will be glad to check with you on every story pertaining to you.

As I said last week, if Booker was working only he knows for sure, but they did talk about others speculating on what the goal of his statements were (which is what commentators are supposed to do). As it turns out, they had one last segment of the radio show to do and had nothing to talk about, so Booker decided to make his statements and get people talking.

He also said that he was actually happy to removed from the Raw announce team, and Graves concurred.

Graves also mentioned that Big E had any problem with New Day mocking the "story" in their bits on Smackdown, and Corey said go for it. Booker didn't know since he didn't watch Smackdown, and he laughed when he was told about it.

I always find it hilarious when wrestling fans get upset when they fall for a work.

Let it go, Dave, let it go.

I saw Corey Graves and Booker T said that they were having fun with the internet with their fake feud. They said “no one called them”. Why would anyone need to call Booker to ask if he said what he just said? And what about Corey Graves, has be given his phone numbers to the wrestling press?

When Booker made the statement on his radio show, I wrote that only he knows if he is working. Since he talked about working a match at Mania with Graves, who has been retired by WWE due to concussion issues, it came across as a work to me. But, he said it and that made it news. He acted as if he was serious when he said he wanted to beat up Graves. He purposely stated it in a way to make it a story, so to me he sounds foolish saying it was fake news when he was the one who intentionally created the situation to begin with. As for Graves, I think he came off disingenuous as well. He knows that he hasn’t shared his phone number with the masses so there is no way that the wrestling press could pick up the phone and call him. All we can do officially is reach out to WWE for comment. So yeah, I am glad they had fun messing with people but blaming people for wondering what was going on, while they chose to keep it a secret. is just eating-a-Tide-pod stupid to me.

But he's right.  And he didn't fall for the work.  He reported it straight as he should and then alluded to the fact that it might be a work because of how bizarre some of the comments were.  In the meantime, Booker intentionally tried to work a story to get hype for his podcast and when it worked to a very minor degree, he seemed incredulous about the whole thing.

They ran the story as if it was legit with a little paragraph at the end saying that it might be a work. Everything in wrestling might be a work. He should never have reported it straight if he thought it might be a work. It came off as clickbait. It made him look foolish and now he's pissed off. Getting all pissy because he doesn't have Graves' phone number is just bizarre.
