I think I like it. Rather this than the 'pitch clock' idea.

I prefer it to the pitch clock too. I just wonder how much difference this will really make as far as saving time goes.

6 sounds like a lot, how many occur now in an average game?

2-3 minutes a game is my guess

I haven't read anything about it. Is this six visits by the manager? Does a pitching change count as a visit too?

I'm all for anything to speed up the game. KGB I think pitching change (mound visit) would count towards the total, I just don't get how they'll get around the marathon extra innings games when they bring in the whole bullpen.

I'm not sure how a pitching change could count because that would limit the number of relievers you could bring in.  Not that there are a ton of games with more than 7 pitchers used, but it happens, especially in September after the call-ups.  Managers should still be able to use their bullpen how they best see fit.

I agree that the "coaching visit" though is almost always just to stall for time or try to calm a pitcher down when he's struggling.  It's unnecessary, but really the time saved here isn't much.  This rule change is not nearly as bad as last year's intentional walk fiasco though.

So, instead of the manager, we're just going to see the catcher or infielders get a signal from the bench to go to the mound to kill time?

6 visits per nine innings - what about extra innings ?
Do visits to the mound revert back to 2 visits per pitcher in extra innings ?

If it's 6 per 9 innings I would think it would then be 2 visits for every 3 extra innings, but that's just a guess.

I haven't read about this anywhere except on here, so much like Beejmi's tournaments this could be FAKE NEWS.

Can they do a pitching change without a visit to the mound? Or would that go against a written or unwritten baseball rule?

I got the impression it's six visits by the catcher to the mound. Maybe manager and coach visits not resulting in a pitching change are included in the six as well.
The cubs catcher already came out and said he will go more than the six times if he needs to (until he gets ejected I imagine). So catcher-pitcher visits are definitely part of it.
Pitching changes, from my understanding, are not.

Why do they need to talk so much? It’s not like they all sit in different dugouts each inning. If it’s that big of a deal learn fucking sign language and speak in code from the plate to the mound.

Then it'll save a lot of time. Fucking catchers are out at the mound all fucking day. Why can't they just signal 1 for fast ball and then put the glove where they want it. It isn't rocket science.
