Willie McGee

Dude was was ugly.
I remember one time at Three Rivers Stadium being all hammered up in centerfield and singing, “Willie does coke....He’s ready to play today.....Centerfield” to the tune of John Fogerty’s “Centerfield”.  Willie was seriously pissed!   If he could have gotten up to us, he would have charged the stands.  At one point, I thought he was going to try and find his way up there.  LOL

I can't imagine any White Sox wanting to slide into second base while wearing shorts. Even with pants on you wind up losing half the skin on your knees.

It looks like the White Sox batter is playing pepper on the beach. If that is home plate that is a fucked up batters box.

Howard Cossell said, on air, "he kind of looks like E.T."

Dennis Eckersley (1976)

Those Cleveland colors in 1976 made for some pretty ugly uniforms.

I'll always remember those years as the era of the powder blue uniforms.  In addition to the Royals, Brewers, and Twins, the Expos, Blue Jays, Cardinals, Braves, and my beloved Phillies also sported powder blues.  Were there any others?

Yes, the powder or “robin-egg blue” as it was called was a popular fashion trend in the ‘70’s. I always wondered where that fashion idea came from.

The Chicago White Sox also wore the powder blue in the 70s (road uniform)- I remember their red pinstriped home uniforms as well.

Catastrophe takes place in Cleveland during 10-cent beer night during game between Indians and the Rangers. This in June 1974.

Pic is of Jeff Burroughs (with glasses) who had has cap taken off him by fan.  Burroughs tried to kick the fan and fell down.  Billy Martin, Rangers manager, thought fans were attacking or attacked Burroughs.  Martin sent team to the field with bats in their hands to defend Burroughs.
