At Madison Square Garden. Not their first meeting but pretty early on.

Better than most of their WCW matches, but they never really had a great one.

When I first got into tape trading in the very early internet days, this MSG show was one of the first ones I ever got on VHS.  Good memories.

I was there. It was a great match live and the Garden crowd legit believed that Flair won the belt. And Flair was more over than anybody else on the crowd and the roof blew off the place when the 3 count came down.

Last match of the night was Rockers vs Nasty Boys and you've never seen 18,000 people leave an arena faster than they did when that match started. Place must've been empty when the match ended, I was already on the train home.

Undertaker had it belt at the time. So it wasn't a title match

Good call - we didn't know that at the time, we legit thought Hogan was champ and from our seats didn't realize he wasn't holding the belt when he came out.  He must've lost the belt the weekend prior because he had been Champ when the match was advertised and *I think* the insert in the program labeled him WWF Champion.   And with all of that said, now looking at it, there was no reason for the reverse decision because Hogan didn't have a belt to lose...it doesn't even play into the rematch in December because that one didn't end clean either and there was no third match payoff.

I love Flair's WWF matches. Very under-rated. Month before vs Piper was great also.

Hogan vs Flair was never going to live up to expectations but i enjoyed them anyway.

both were past their prime at this point. it would have been much better if this had been 1986 or 1987 but whatever. I prefer their run in WCW a couple years later.
