Major League Wrestling has gotten near-national clearance on the BEin Sports Network for a weekly TV show that will debut this Friday at 9:00 PM.  Anyone with Verizon FIOS, Dish Network, DirecTV, and AT&T Uverse should be able to find it.  You'll have to search to find the channel but I have FIOS and I tracked it down.

Court Bauer is the promoter, using the same name he used in the early 2000s for another indy he ran.

They got Tony Schiavone as the lead announcer with former WWE D-level announcer Rich Bocchini (Rich Brennan) as his color man.

Looking at spoilers from TV tapings, it seems like they have a decent roster of top indy talent combined with a few WWE cast-offs and current Lucha Underground stars.  MVP, Jack Hager (Jack Swagger), Low-Ki, ACH, Matt Riddle, Sami Callahan, Simon Grimm (Simon Gotch), Pentagon Dark, Fenix, Santana Garrett, Shane Strickland (Killshot), Jeff Cobb (Matanza Cueto), Fred Yehi, and Joey Janela are all involved.

In addition, Col. Robert Parker (Robert Fuller) is being used as manager and has a new Stud Stable.

Definitely seems good enough for me check it out and hope for the best.

How old is Robert Fuller now?

I know we have that channel. I don't think it is part of an additional package. Might check it out.

Robert Fuller is 67.    He was only 43 when he debuted that gimmick in WCW.  He's another guy like Johnny Valient who looked like he was in his 60s when he was in his early 40s.

Pretty sure it's Maxwell Jacob Feinstein, at least that's his name on the indy circuit.

The show was good as far as wrestling action but it wasn’t at all presented as a new company that would have continuing storylines. There was no introduction, no angles, no anything. The opening uses old footage Court Bauer owns to make you think guys like CM Punk are involved.

The first match was Austin Aries beating ACH in a good 20-minute match. The main event was Pentagon beating Fenix in another good 20-minute match as these 2 have used Lucha Underground to launch very successful U.S. indy careers. Sandwiched in between was an 8-second squash match with an obese guy named Barrington Hughes. The matches were taped in January. That was the whole show. No complaints as I’ll take the opportunity to watch random indy matches that are good, but there was no flow or indication that this was a real promotion that would have its own talent or angles.

I think MLW was recently 'rebooted'.

Might explain the lack of storylines and depth. Haven't seen it. A local radio station show here sort of 'covers' MLW.

On 'Bein' sports I believe

I’m enjoying the Indy scene and the accessibility to all of these match ups but I wonder if the amount of indies and their exposure prevents any one Indy from turning the corner and becoming more than just an Indy.

beIN Sports Network has been dropped from Verizon FIOS within the past few days so the MLW show obviously won't air tonight on that cable platform.  I was actually enjoying it, especially Tom Lawlor, whose work I don't get to see anywhere else.  They were also dropped by Comcast, so this hurts MLW a lot.

BEin released this statement:

MIAMI, FL – August 2, 2018 – beIN SPORTS – sets the record straight concerning Verizon Fios’ decision to drop beIN SPORTS.

“beIN SPORTS USA learned late last night that despite its offer to extend its contract with Verizon on the same rates and terms, Verizon chose to abruptly cease negotiations and drop the beIN SPORTS channels from its platform.  Verizon falsely claims that beIN sought “significant” rate increases.  In fact, beIN offered to continue under the same modest fee increase structure it established when it launched in 2012. Verizon, conversely, sought to re-package beIN to higher more expensive tiers where customers have to pay more for the content they love.

beIN will not allow Verizon to use its content in this manner and will continue its fight to achieve carriage in lower priced tiers on behalf of consumers and content partners” said Antonio Briceño, beIN SPORTS’ Deputy Managing Director for the U.S. and Canada.

Subscribers who would like to keep beIN SPORTS and beIN SPORTS en Español can visit http://www.keepbeinonfios.com%2F&sa=D&sntz=1&usg=AFQjCNHr44O45AVNnVGr-Zizo1sTMiIDrg]http://www.keepbeINonFIOS.com or call 1-877-789-1395 to file a complaint to their cable provider directly. Your support can make the difference #KeepbeIN #StopCarrierBarriers!
