Jonathan Coach has another obligation and is unavailable to call Raw on Monday, so WWE has sent out a press release announcing that Renee Young will get his spot.  She will become the first woman to call an entire episode of Raw (or SD! for that matter).

Young will also be calling this year's Mae Young Classic and has previously been an announcer for NXT, but before it blew up and reached the level it's at now.

How can this transpire without Stephanie McMahon coming out to the ring and making a 15 minute ground breaking announcement ahead of time?

When people asked her about commentating on last year's Mae Young Classic, she said that she had enjoyed commentary, but she didn't think that she was very good at it.

That never stopped every other WWE announcer.

Words can not express how proud I am of @ReneeYoungWWE. What she accomplished last night is no easy feat. That chair is a tough one to sit in. She brought poise, professionalism, a refreshing view. Renee and @WWEGraves were a great team. Thanks for helping me feel young again

Didn't see the show. But looking at some of the video on Youtube on WWE Channel. Never heard Her only Graves and Cole.

Shows that you don't need 3 to commentate on Raw. 3 only works when the third is a technical analyst like Tenay. She added nothing to the broadcast because Cole did the play by play and Graves the abuse.

It's very tough to get your stuff in with a 3-man booth, especially if you're the new person trying not to step on toes.  I thought she did fine.  It was never glaringly obvious that she wasn't speaking, unlike Percy Watson during his first live NXT Takeover event where it was so comical that it actually overshadowed the matches for me because I began noting how long it had been since he last spoke and at one point it literally hit 20 minutes.  She said some things but there's not much for that 3rd man to do.  Booker added nothing except sounding like a clown.  Coach adds nothing.  That spot shouldn't exist.  In an ideal world Cole would be the bland babyface play-by-play guy and Graves would be the heelish color man.  But unfortunately Cole is too big an asshole not to come across as a heel a lot of the times, and Graves is relied on to make a lot of the good points and advance the logic except when he inexplicably starts sounding like a dick out of nowhere.  Just nothing about WWE's announce teams work.
