Can somebody give some examples of what made him such a scumbag and so rotten? I have heard him described that way but never heard the details.

A kind and gentle man. Even tempered, slow to anger, fantastic sense of humor, always willing to help new talent in any way he could. You could tell by his excellent conditioning that he led a very healthy lifestyle. Also an animal rights activist of sorts by bring the English Bulldog breed into American living rooms coast to coast. We need more men like Mr. Billington in the wrestling scene these days. A true mensch. We all are a little poorer today for having lost Tom Billington. Fuck you Vince McMahon. Fuck you.

Depends what you want to believe I guess.
Breaking Michelle Foley's kneecaps for insurance money.
Holding a gun to his wife/ girlfriends head in beadand telling her next time it would be loaded.
I think alot of his ribs in the locker room went a little too far and he was sometimes a real prick in the ring so the stories go with at times wanton disregard for his opponents safety.

I had pretty much stopped watching wrestling with the height of popularity of The Bulldogs.  I then heard all of the comments about DK being a bad person once I got involved with the wrestling internet boards.  I just never saw the actual incidents described that made him such a bastard.

RIP Dynamite Kid. One of the most influential wrestlers off all time.

I'm hoping WWE puts up a proper Collections in tribute and digs out some vintage stuff, especially from Calgary.

Time to watch his AJPW retirement music video montage yet another time.

And with his passing, Bret Hart becomes the Kevin Von Erich of the Stampede crew as the last prominent talent standing.

Hope Dynamite found piece before he passed.

Bret Hart:

There are people in life that have a ripple effect both professionally and personally. Tom “Dynamite Kid” Billington was one of those people. The second professional wrestling match of my career was against Dynamite. I benefited from his greatness and through our matches in Stampede, WWE, and everywhere in-between, I became a better wrestler because of him. Dynamite truly was the best wrestler ever, pound-for-pound. Tom was family, my brother-in-law, and we were very close. In many ways I felt like one of the few people who truly knew him, both the good and the bad. I saw Tom one final time this past June in England and I can only hope he is finally at peace. My thoughts are with his children Browyne, Marek, and Amaris, and the entire Billington family.

A lot of stuff written about this guy, especially in Bret's book.  By many accounts, a bully with little-man syndrome, but a good worker.  Some say an extremely stiff worker.

I've heard a lot of his stories about the ribs and bullying:  Outback Jack, Jacques Rougeau, etc.

I even remember Hillbilly Jim talking about him in a shoot interview years ago.

Sometimes it's hard to know what is actually true or just a perception, but a lot of people talked about this guy.  If those stories are true, I hope that he got it together before the end.
