A rare chance for me to watch some live WWE at a sensible hour.

First match is Mustache Mountain vs Zack Gibson & James Drake

The crowd are awesome, going straight into "Shoes off if you hate Gibson."

Referee Drake Younger is a ridiculous shade of orange, as usual, and it's very distracting tonight.

The match opened with some great World of Sport style British chain wrestling. Vic "Zero Personality" Joseph had no idea how to call it.

Trent Seven busted open hardway on the back of his head from a James Drake punch. There's a nice amount of blood in his hair now. Thankfully they don't stop matches to clean up blood any more.

Tyler Bate came up with yet another variation on his airplane spin. First he used Gibson as a weapon, Terry Funk with a ladder style, then he picked up both men for another spin. Awesome display of strength.

Bate and Seven are wearing British Bulldogs inspired matching tights, and the Bulldogs' walking powerslam, diving headbutt combo.

Drake pinned Seven to win the match, and Zack Gibson and James Drake are the first ever NXT UK tag team champions.

That was a superb match with a couple of legitimate "holy shit" moments.

Johnny Saint and Sid Scala congratulated the new champions from the entranceway and raised their hands. Thankfully no Triple H hugging and crying celebrations and the heels stay heels.

Next up... Jordan Devlin vs Travis Banks.

Devlin attacked Banks as he was entering the building earlier, so Banks is coming into this match injured.

Devlin went after Banks' knee before the match, and Banks had to be helped to the back.

Saint and Scala come out and tell Devlin they have a back up plan..... Finn Balor!

Balor wins with the Coup de Gras. The match was nothing special, and did nothing to elevate Devlin.

Up next... Eddie Dennis vs Dave Mastiff. Dennis really needs to put on some bulk if he wants to be considered a monster. He's just tall and skinny at the moment, reminds me a little of Eli Cottonwood. He's a good promo, thought.

Dennis gave Mastiff a version of the Razor's Edge, so he gets some respect for that.

Mastiff is pulling out some acrobatic moves you wouldn't think him capable of, and Dennis is using power moves on Mastiff that are pretty impressive.

Mastiff wins the match with a cannonball through a table set up in the corner (it was a no-dq match). Good for a big man match.

Kay Lee Ray and Jazzy Gabert shown at ringside, and from the commentary, they have signed with WWE to work in NXT UK.

Match is maybe 15 minutes in, and it's pretty dull so far. Neither guy has done anything noteworthy. The crowd as still chanting a little, but they are all sitting down for this one. The match one had everyone on their feet from bell to bell.

Joe Coffey is a very good talker, but he doesn't have anything better than average in-ring skills.

The fans are really into this now. Everyone is on their feet singing "Are you watching, Vince McMahon?" Obviously, the commentators don't mention this, although McGuinness seemed like he was about to.

Pete Dunne finally wins the match by bending Coffey's fingers and Coffey taps. Strange ending. It looked they were going for some kind of move with both men on the top ropes. They got into the same position twice at the end, and both ended with clumsy looking falls to the outside.

Good match, but too long.

An above average show, but the first match was the only must-see.

I still am having trouble getting into a lot of these guys but that main event was an instant classic. Not sure if anyone has a time but seems to have gone at least 40 minutes. Coffey impressed the hell out of me and I already knew that Dunne was awesome.

It'll take a few months to get invested in some of these guys. Only a couple really have gimmicks. Action has been great but the promotion seems kind of heel-heavy.

Slowly making my way through the show now. The opening was quite the contest. There were times I though the other 3 wrestlers and the referee were going to stand in awe of Tyler Bates.
