I thought I'd kick this off, but if beejmi wants to take over next week, I'm all good with that since he does it better than anyone.

Atlanta Legends at Orlando Apollos (-5.5, 44.5)

San Diego Fleet at San Antonio Commanders (-5, 43.5)

Memphis Express at Birmingham Iron (-1, 40.5)

Salt Lake Stallions at Arizona Hotshots (-4.5, 42.5)

San Diego wins the championship.
Mike Singletary can't coach but he has the best QB's on his roster.
They average between 12k-18k a game.
First week there will be over 50 punts

Maybe so but it will still probably be more entertaining than the NBA for the next two months.

No preseason. Expect sloppy play and here how horrible it all is.

This post made me look it up. Some names on rosters but what struck me is talent on coaching staffs. Ex players are gravitating to this, probably as a way to learn and gain coaching experience to have a future. I saw names like Az Hakim, Anthony Becht, and Michael Vick with spots on staff - Vick is the OC for Atlanta which may be a gimmick but it still could be beneficial for his life.

So no one.  I Googled Trevor Knight to start with and he went undrafted and spent 1 season on an NFL practice squad.  And now he's the "star" of his team.

Trent Richardson is probably the biggest star in the league. Former 1000 yard runner. The bigger names are in the front office (Mike Vick, Jared Allen , Troy Polomalu, Hines Ward ,etc etc)

Sd vs SA on local tv. I like the pace of the game but no scoring other than fgs. Turned the channel to NBA at half.

I watched the SA game. Is was watchable. I think I will tune in today to watch another game.

Definitely needs more scoring, but there was not one roughing the passer penalty and the SD QB got demolished and his helmet flew off on a huge hit. Definitely would have been flagged in the NFL.

The biggest change that I like is no kickoffs. So that means no commercial break before the kick and no commercial break after the kick. They start on the 25 where 90% of the NFL drives start anyway.

Another thing I liked was the access. Microphones everywhere. You can hear the play calls. The sidelines are mic'ed up. There was an interesting moment where Mike Martz turned to an assistant and said he was thinking of making a QB change in the 3rd quarter.

They also showed the replay official going through a challenged call. I though it was interesting he called it incomplete immediately. Most of them time was taken trying to get the down and distance and time correct.

Overall a watchable product, that I will probably keep tuning in. I recommend giving them a look.

Memphis' offense is offensive. Singletary coaching Hackenberg. Scary shit.

I really have heard nothing about this other than here and on wrestling websites as it relates to the XFL. Maybe it's a regional thing. I can't imagine this did well in NY.

The quicker pace of the game definitely makes it more appealing. I knew there was something different, but I could not find identify it until thinking it over.

One of the players was busted in a prostitution sting before the first game so they're a lot like the NFL..

They did a 2.1 to the Houston vs. Oklahoma City's 2.0, but the AAF will only be on cable tv now until the title game. Not a bad start though.

I watched the week 2 game between Birmingham Iron and Salt Lake Stallions on TNT. It wasn't very good:

1) The production values for the show were terrible. The intro was basically a camera shot of the field followed by a camera on the announce team. No intro graphics. No intro music.

2) The announcers were constantly messing up the player names with the names of actual NFL players. For example, Salt Lake kicker's name was Nick Novak. Announcer often called him Nick Foles.

3) Lots of missed passes / drops. Announcer tried to spin the offense's ineptness as the result of a strong defense. Final score ended up being 12-9. It wasn't a battle of 2 great defenses. It was 2 offenses that couldn't find a way to make a 1st down.

I will give it another chance. The Arizona Hotshots were being touted as the exciting team in the league. The Hotshots next game is Saturday at 3:00 pm streaming on Bleacher Report Live. It appears that the stream will be free (unlike other events) so I will try to catch it.
