Localized advertising for the WWE Hall of Fame in New York City is listing an on sale for this Friday 2/22 and is built around an induction for DX, the super group that helped turn around the Monday Night War for WWF in the late 1990s.

Footage of the commercial features Shawn Michaels, Triple H, The New Age Outlaws, X-Pac and Chyna.   Given the on sale ticket date, an official announcement will likely come tonight on Monday Night Raw.

The group was originally put together as a trio featuring Shawn Michaels, Triple H and Chyna, pushing the boundaries as disrespectful rebels with an entrance that was so good, you could pin the date it debuted as the beginning of the momentum shifting from WCW to WWF during the Monday Night War.  After Michaels injured his back wrestling The Undertaker at the 1997 Royal Rumble, he performed in the ring once more, dropping the belt to Steve Austin at Wrestlemania 14.  Michaels left to recover, with DX being reorganized as a larger group, adding X-Pac (returning from WCW that night) and the New Age Outlaws to the mix, becoming the top heel act in the company next to Vince McMahon.
This would be the first-ever WWE Hall of Fame induction for Triple H and would become the second WWE Hall of Fame induction for Shawn Michaels.  The Hall of Fame induction for Chyna, who passed away in April 2016, is extremely deserved and is something she desperately wanted in terms of closure before her passing.   Her potential induction had been a hot button issue because of adult films she had performed in after her WWE run.
It would also be the first Hall of Fame induction for X-Pac, who helped revolutionize professional wrestling on a global scale with his WWF run as the 1-2-3 Kid and later as Syxx and X-Pac, and The New Age Outlaws, current WWE Creative Team member Road Dogg and AEW Producer Billy Gunn.  All are legitimately worthy of going in on their own accomplishments separately, but as a group, there's never been a more important WWE-created stable.
The DX induction was at one point planned for the 2013 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony in Madison Square Garden when it appeared the company would not be able to get Bruno Sammartino to reconcile with the company and be the headliner.  After Sammartino reconsidered his decision, the DX induction plans were pulled.

ESPN ran a piece on DX being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this afternoon, featuring comments from Triple H about the induction.

On the two different eras of DX being inducted, Triple H noted, "I think it's the most meaningful for us all to go in together and to be recognized together. Because I think both groups were [just] as impactful."

On Chyna's inclusion in the Hall of Fame, Triple H commented, "Look, people believe what they want to believe. When I said a few years ago on the Austin podcast, or show, or whatever you want to call it, there's complexities around it. But absolutely, definitely deserves to be in there. It'd be tough to pick a female that was more impactful on the business. She did something that was completely so out of left field that it wasn't even being considered when we first brought it up for her to come in. It wasn't even a consideration... it wasn't an easy thing, and against all odds she did all of that. She earned everybody's trust. She won over the fans. She won over the boys. She did all of it. From that standpoint, absolutely 100 percent deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, and should probably be more than once -- as a group, but individually as well. There's more complexity to that than meets the eye, but here we are. I'm just happy that it's here. I'm happy for her family, the people that she was close to, that hopefully this is super meaningful to them. I know it would be to her. It's a great thing -- very deserving."

On the importance of DX to his own career, Triple H commented, "For me, it was the break of a lifetime, right? My career was on the upswing, and then it had its downswing, due to a lot of [different] reasons. That was an opportunity for me to kind of get back on the right path, get out there and show what I could do. Being next to Shawn, the experience was so great, to be around that level of performer. From Taker, to Bret [Hart], to everybody else -- the learning experience was massive. "

Well, this will put Michaels in again, get Triple H at least 2 trips (maybe 3 if they eventually put Evolution in lol), and gets X-Pac and Chyna in finally.  Now the whole Cliq will be inducted.  Billy Gunn and Road Dogg are along for the ride.

I think they should have done the nWo first.  I think they are at a much higher risk of Hogan or Hall passing away first before any of those other guys.

Except there were approximately 3812746182379 people who were at one time another members of the nWo/nWo B-team/nWo Hollywood/Wolfpac/lWo, etc. Do you just induct Hogan/Hall/Nash/Syxx/Bischoff?

The NWO should go in first. Without the NWO there is no DX.

Without WWE there is no HOF, DX was always going to go in first.

Yes. Logic has never come into play with this HOF.

I think you could make a pretty good argument that without Hogan there would be no WWE, at least as we know it today.

They should induct Hogan every year forever.

I have always felt that "I Love It Loud" should have always been the nWo midcarder theme.  You have a great point.
