Was wading through the McComb papers, and ran across these clippings. Any idea on who promoted these? Buck Robley? Originally advertised as "Super Pro" Wrestling. Then, by the end of August, no longer had that moniker. World Class promoted a show there in October. Talent level was pretty good starting off. I saw one Super Pro card live at the Landmark Hotel in Metairie, LA around March of 86. There was no tv that I was aware of. I did't know they had shows in Loranger. Offhand the main event was Buck Robley, Wrestling II, Jerry Oates vs Assassin, Rock Hunter & Mike George? Will have to check on the undercard when I get home. I assumed it was Buck promoting, but nothing official. |

Mike Jones = Virgil? The cast of characters looks like some of the iterations of small indys I have video on from the time frame. The names escape me off the top of my head but it's different than Super Pro. |

Based on the talent that is being used across that particular year, it appears to be an amalgamation of Buck Robley booked Talent mixed with East Coast guys with Wild Samoan Afa. The appearance of Jules Strongbow could lend credence to it being Rob Russen as well, and perhaps there was joint promotion in cooperation indifferent quantities during this time. |

Here is an indy card from New Jersey with some of the same wrestlers as the 4/4/86 card in Loranger, LA. The promotion was billed as the TWWF which I think stood for Trans-World Wrestling Federation. June 27, 1986 - Randolph High School Gym - Randolph, NJ 1. Tonga Kid vs. Ox Baker 2. Wendi Richter vs. Princess Jasmine 3. The Wild Samoans vs. The Hollywood Blondes 4. Ivan Putski vs. Bobby Duncum Plus Jules Strongbow, The Russian Scorpions, Charlie Fulton, Yukon Jack, and The Great Kokina |

Trans-World was definitely affiliated with Afa at one time. It was funny to hear an interview with Tonga Kid where he basically said that with such a large Samoan contingent in wrestling, they spun off to other countries such as Tonga and Fiji just to add diversity and give them representation. |
