I read the article. As usual, another Trump hater who can't be bothered to give a single example why. Why? Because he is a bigot who fears the unknown.

I don't like Trump because he's a shitty person. If you continually cheat on your partners you're an asshole and a shit role model for your kids, and you fuck with their lives. Politics aside, the guy is a genuine cunt. Now I think that way of anyone doing that though, liberal or con.

I don't like Trump personally, but his policies seem OK to me. However, I don't follow the news closely anymore.

Why would he care? He’s doing ok for himself and I don’t think many Trump supporters are big fans of his movies. It’s not like this stance is going out on a limb in Hollywood.

Samuel failed to state any examples on how "mf-er" Trump is ruining the planet. Also like how he wants his relatives to have free health care so they don't have to call him (multi-millionaire on his own) to ask for money.

Okay, next.

I dont think many Trump supporters would be fans of Sam anyways. Just watch one of Trumps rallies. Sam won't lose any viewers. Sam's the man.'

He is still very much in demand as a actor. He works non stop. he is still in really big movies. he is popular in the super hero movies. He was the highlight of captain marvel along with the cat. he probably has the best career in Hollywood.

That's because he never passes on anything. In the last 20 years, 90% of his movies not directed by Quinten Tarentino are horrible.

That specific article isn’t up anymore but I read a different article quoting his esquire article.

What is his point? If Obama care stays in effect he is happy? He doesn’t want his family members asking him for money?

Was Sam one of the celebrities that was going to move to Canada or something if trump won?

He has called him out on his rotten behavior and how well he inspires the rotten behavior of a good portion of the bigots in the states. Racism is likely touchy with him. It's funny people have a problem with celebs talking politics when they elected a celebrity.

If you work a lot you are bound to have some stiff movies. The greatest actors have. His resume is pretty damn good.

I guess so. He's a helluva actor, no doubt. I just feel he's in way too many shitty movies. Christopher Walken too.

Truth be told I didn’t vote for Trump and I don’t mind celebrities making comments but I do have an issue with wealthy people saying we as a country should provide a low cost healthcare plan so their relatives don’t bother them for their money.

Democratic Socialism is fabulously wealthy people believing that middle class taxpayers should support their freeloading relatives instead of themselves.

SLJ has still been in mostly kick-ass movies though.

I think Tom Cruise has been pretty good at working a lot and still making good choices. Although he has stinker now and then.  Leo DiCaprio is the most consistent when it comes to quality movies. But he is very careful about what chooses to do. You won't see him in  a romantic comedy or a super hero movie.

For some reason I’m having a hard time quoting srossi’s post on my phone but I agree completely which is why I find it so weird that their is this perceived ground swell that thinks some type of a socialist government is awesome.

I saw a YouTube video recently with some guy asking college kids if they would support a socialist grading system where their excess GPA would go to under performers and the kids thought that was unfair because they worked for A’s so why should someone else benefit from their hard work.

I’m not a hard ass; I think the government and we as people should help others less fortunate but I think a 90% tax on the rich is crazy. I also don’t think those unwilling to work should be paid a basic income. Everyone capable to work should work even if it’s something minimal like litter removal or general city cleaning to receive government benefits. I think their is a middle ground on all of this that could benefit everyone but until something reasonable is figured out I’m in favor of less government involvement.

You do realize it's not a 90% tax on the rich, right?  It's 90% on the amount over the 10 Million Dollar cap.  If I make 10M my tax doesn't change.  If I make $10,000,001  I pay 90% on the extra dollar.

And if you make $20 million you pay 90% on $10 million and that's crazy.  The government isn't giving that money to the poor, they're spending it on all the things liberals hate anyway, namely the military (where even half of that gets "lost") and to overpay private contractors.  So I don't understand your point.  It's redistribution of wealth from the very rich and competent to the very rich and incompetent.

I liked this thread a lot better when we were trying to reach on good Samuel L. Jackson movies in the last 20 years that weren't directed by Quinten Tarentino.

I am in the middle of the road with the taxing percentages.   I do think it needs to be higher for the wealthy based on history, but I am not sure how much.   But, but, but, like rossi said that money is going to be wasted on things like slimy defense contractors and paybacks for lobbyists. It will not be used for things as tax relief for middle class families, infrastructure, roads or legitimate social programs.   So, in my mind, the discussion is moot.

The system is broken when worthless people think they deserve what others have for no reason except they want it.

You also wisely chose not to address my main point, which is that poor people never see tax dollars anyway. You just would prefer to flush money down the toilet so that “rich people” don’t have it, but the idea of poor people getting it is a pipedream. Have fun using that money to blow up more brown children though. Even Obama loved doing that.

It's ridiculous to suggest that a socialist government that had a 90% tax rate, even at the astronomical end of the pay scale, would simultaneously spend it's new found riches on "all the things that liberals hate". I didn't address that point because I didn't want to embarrass you by pointing out your ridiculous strawman.

But this 90% tax rate is pure fantasy. In a world where AOC is president, the money wouldn't be going to the military.

Fantasy or not the idea alone is bothersome to me. So many young people nowadays think they are owed something. universal basic income may be a necessary reality in 30 years but it isn’t now so everyone should get to work and provide for themselves if possible.

AOC being president may be pure fantasy (and maybe not the way the extremes dominate lately), but in a world where she is president that money will still be going to the military.  Obama and Trump both snorted various degrees of anti-war and fiscal responsibility propaganda and look where we are.  They get into a room on Day One and are told there are certain things that are non-negotiable, president or no president, and whether it's their fear of a world on the brink of destruction due to "top secret information" or an explicit threat, the military gets their money every single time.  This has not changed with any president since the '40s.  AOC certainly won't be the exception.

The system is broken when you are crying for people who earn $20M a year.

It’s embarrassing that you still think that government cares about people and will spend efficiently to help people when that has never happened in the history of any government system ever.

But this 90% tax rate is pure fantasy. In a world where AOC is president, the money wouldn't be going to the military.

Samuel Jackson can only play Samuel Jackson. Tarantino writes the best Samuel Jackson.

Agreed.

And you may nit have good personal consequences if you try to buck that systematic plan.
