I'm a geek for their 1989 series but the Clash match to me is over-rated. Like the TV match where Steamboat comes back out of nowhere and pins Flair in the tag match, the Chitown Rumble (Steamboat wins belt) and Wrestlewar (Flair regains) all better

Flair vs Steamboat is the golden standard for excellence in pro wrestling, period.

Both men haver said (and I agree with them) that there was even better stuff than the trilogy back in the house shows that never even made it to film, having seen many of those matches in the early days, usually with the US title on the line, and some of the many tag matches with Flair and Greg Valentine vs Steamboat and Paul Jones was just awesome to watch.
