KLKN-TV in Nebraska featured a piece today on Zachary Madsen, the 26-year old arrested after tackling WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart during his acceptance speech for the Hart Foundation this past Saturday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

The piece noted that Hart was treated at a local hospital in Brooklyn for pain and stiffness in his hip. A security guard who was kicked by Madsen in the ribs was also treated and released.

According to KLKN, Madsen allegedly told authorities "it was the right time" for him to attack Hart.

The article also noted that Madsen is slated to appear in court next week related to his latest arrest this past January for stalking MMA fighter Haris Talundzic. That would be Madsen's third arrest in relation to that situation

He can sue but good luck getting any money. A jury is liable to side with him and give him $3. He absolutely asked for the beating. Sorry. I am not surprised he is in his 20's. The young generation seems to know absolutely nothing about actions and consequences. Life ain't a video game.

He is lucky he wasn't hurt much worse. Fuck him. This coming from someone who was never a Bret Hart fan.

Zachary Madsen, the man arrested after attacking WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart at the WWE Hall of Fame this past Saturday, is scheduled to appear in Kings Criminal Court in Brooklyn on Friday 4/12.

Madsen is currently incarcerated at the Brooklyn Detention Complex as no one has paid the $750 bail or $1,500 bond to secure his release. Madsen has been provided a public defender.

Madsen has been charged with two counts of assault in the third degree as well as trespassing after hitting the ring that was being used as the stage for the acceptance speeches to tackle Bret Hart, taking down the WWE Hall of Famer and Natalya. In New York, Assault in the third degree is an A misdemeanor and can be punishable in up to a year in jail per count, should Madsen be found guilty.

After tackling Hart, Madsen was immediately besieged by a number of pro wrestlers, including Hart’s nephew Davey Boy Smith Jr., New Day, Shane McMahon, Curtis Axel, Heath Slater and many others. Video of the incident clearly shows Dash Wilder drilling Madsen with an incredible punch as well After Madsen was dragged out of the Barclays Center, Drake Maverik, who had entered the fray, demanded that everyone ignore him and have Bret Hart continue his acceptance speech for the Hart Foundation, which Bret did to thunderous applause.

Hart and a security guard were each examined after the incident at a local hospital but released. Hart was dealing with pain and stiffness in his hip after the incident.

Madsen allegedly told authorities "it felt like it was the right time" for him to attack Hart.

WWE issued the following statement following the incident: “An over-exuberant fan surpassed our security at ringside and made his way briefly into the ring. The individual has been turned over to the proper authorities.”

The incident made many of the New York City news broadcasts last night and was picked up nationally by a number of outlets.

Madsen’s Twitter account features a number of strange tweets towards WWE personalities, including Triple H (demanding that women not headline Wrestlemania), Vince McMahon (featuring a photo of himself painted up as Batman foe the Joker and wearing the costume hat he wore when charging the ring last night) and others.

I don't mean to say this to in any way excuse the guy for attacking Bret and taking out Nattie in the process, but as an explanation for why he did this, everything that's been reported about Zachary Madsen suggests some form of untreated and possibly undiagnosed mental health problem.

He’s a wrestling fan so we already knew that.

That's horse and buggy thinking and a copout. I'm in no way offending this asshole, and I have the utmost respect for you Tamalie, but I have a 5 year old granddaughter with autism. Does that mean she is a danger to society like you suggested a mental health patient is? Of course not.

Um, autism isn’t a mental health issue, it’s a cognitive processing disorder. Not even close to similar.

You're wrong on that. I agree, autism probably shouldn't be considered a mental health disability, but it is.

That's our American medical system in a nutshell.

The irony is that some of your posts make you sound like you have a mental illness.  I feel like I'm never high enough to understand what you're talking about.

Yeah I'm not following. The only Indian doctors I work with are either Pulmonologists or GI docs. Never met one who was Neuro or Psych.

I sometimes fail to get get my point across in print here, and I often come across as a jerk or gimmick. I apologize to all for that. Living in California in 2019 sucks for health care.

I can pretty much edit your response - Living in the USA in 2019 sucks for health care.  The best doctors in my area are going private, and wanting a $3-5,000 annual retainer for their services.  What ends up left are either doctors that work for a huge medical firm because they like getting paid and have a 5 day per week full case load without having to fill out all the paperwork...or shit doctors that can't even properly wipe their own asses.  I will echo your sentiment on the Middle East doctors - there are TONS in my area of CT/NY and as you say, if they are good doctors, who cares?  But you don't know if they are good until they fuck up.
And for the record I don't think you have a mental disorder.  I do think you sometimes have diarrhea of the mouth, but that's only a temporary situation :)
