Draft night hosted by Papa Voo has become a tradition here and the 2019 draft is no different.

PV will be by to host but I believe he may be at work tonight so feel free to chime in.

Rumors, trades, great pick / bad pick, who won who lost - all on the docket

A lot of talk concerning where the QBs go. Murray probably going to Arizona. Where does Lock go? Haskins? Is he overrated?

Two inside linebackers Devin White and Devon Bush could go Top 10.

Beej said it best a fee days ago. This is not a draft with “sexy” players, but it should be interesting.

Two Iowa tight ends will probably go in First Round....Hockenson and Fant.

The early rounds should show a pattern of defensive players being drafted.

Like Benlen said on the other thread, if AZ does not choose Kyler Murray, EVERYTHING changes.

This draft reminds me a lot of 2017. Very little sexy name skill position players, but a lot of meat and potatoes guys. You pretty much have to be a hardcore football guy to enjoy this draft, even round 1. Fine by me though.

Mock 1-5 Updated:

1. AZ- Kyler Murray QB, Hopefully. I don't see much in him, and I don't like the Cardinals because of division rivalry.

2. SF- Nick Bosa DE, Hopefully. The Best pass rusher in the draft from the edge.

3. NYJ- I predict a trade for my team hear. They just have too many needs.

4. OAK/LV- Quinnen Williams DT, The Best pass rusher in the draft from the interior.

5. TB- Devin White ILB, Would be a good replacement for the departed Kwon Alexander.

He’s only a reach if he doesn’t perform.  He’s one helluva man, born into a military family with a non stop work ethic.  Say what you want about the what if’s, I say if the kid stays healthy, he’s not going to be fooled or outworked at the pro level.

Well, who are the winners and losers from the First Round? Were there really any winners or losers?

No real big reaches in the First Round. Clelin Ferrell could be considered a reach, but then again, it is expected from the Raiders.  It would not be the same without one.  😆

Josh Rosen still dangling out there.

Expect a run on cornerbacks early in 2nd Round.

Here is one of the draft ratings out there.

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/2019-nfl-draft-grades-and-analysis-for-every-first-round-pick/

The Daniel Jones pick for the Giants is really getting hammered.   Hev reminds of former Giants QB Dave Brown?  Was that his name?  😁

I agree they have the baseline for a great class.

Ferrell may be a reach, but that does not make him a bust by any means.

I don't think Ferrell is going to be a bust just bad value. The one player the Raiders drafted who I think will be a bust is Jacobs. He may be the best running back available but its a bad lot of running backs to chose from.
I am on the fence on Greedy Williams. He could be the next Deion Sanders or the next Bruce Pickens.

Greedy has the tools; he just needs to play smarter. More self-discipline.

The one good thing about Jacobs is that he should have a lot of tread on the tires not being used like other RBs.

I would never take a running back in Round #1 unless it was somebody like Saquon Barkley.

Philly takes Miles Sanders.

Good pick, but why?   May have several people wanting the ball.

Okay, everybody seems to like the pick.

Niners drafted a punter in the 4th round. Wasted pick when they need DB help.

Ok. Time for the grades. For me, there really was not any clear cut losers like some drafts produce.

Like I said earlier, there were no real atrocious draft selections like we have seen in the past with the likes of The Browns or The Raiders.

The Texans seem to be the team coming under the most fire.

I thought the Niners wasted a pick on a punter.
Niners continue to draft players that are injured.
I liked the picks of the Redskins and Cardinals.

I am a bit concerned that My Packers used the 12 pick on a guy who had the same wonderlic score as my couch, took plays off, comes in injured and is being asked to switch positions.
We salvaged it though by giving up our bread and butter picks to trade up for a undersized safety that must start NOW.

I will quote this in January to embarrass myself after we win the Super Bowl with our crushing D.
