I remember thinking wrestling was boring as hell and this jump-started my interest again.  I was almost completely done with wrestling when I got access to ECW in July 1995 on MSG.  That and this angle is why I'm still a wrestling fan today, otherwise I think I was very close to giving up.  I remember loving the NWO stuff throughout the rest of '96, and even though it's not as fondly remembered as the Austin-McMahon feud, I thought the WWF was fantastic with the Hart Foundation vs. America stuff in '97.  This was a fun period again.

Hall comes out of the crowd as opposed to out of the back (cue up entrance music) - a small detail that makes a big difference. Then his promo is off the charts perfect.

I agree with both Rossi and beej. I was starting my family at the time, ready to give up on the business. 23 years later...I have neither.

This was Gold; I caught this in between wiffle games and loved it. Ive always been a WWF fan first but for the rest of 96 I was glued to WCW. At the time Hall / Razor was my favorite.

This moment completely changed WCW and gave them a huge run. I loved this. One of my favorite moments. Too bad they ran the angle to death eventually.

One of the great moments in wrestling history. I was already watching wcw regularly and knew Hall was done with the wwf and heading to wcw and I remember fans say " wcw will waste Scott hall. It's a step down for him" But it was the exact opposite. It was Gold. And it's fun watching the crowds reaction.

The end of the NWO angle should have been Sting beating Hogan cleanly at Starrcade 1997. But as we all know Hogan would not go for that and that's why we got the screwy slow count on sting by Nick Patrick.

I managed to catch this episode of Nitro as a one off at my Uncle's house that Memorial Day. We didn't have cable in our household at the time and the WCW syndicated program was airing late on Sunday night/early Monday morning so my only way of following their product was through the Apter mags, which was always a couple of months behind. And obviously no internet or dirtsheet access, so when I saw Hall come out of the crowd in character as Razor Ramon I really believed he was there on behalf of the WWF issuing a challenge to WCW with all the Billionaire Ted references. I remember tuning in to WWF Superstars the next weekend or whenever it was to see what they had to say about it and remember Vince mentioning  in passing that Razor Ramon and Diesel were no longer with the WWF. When I finally was able to catch WCW Worldwide late one Sunday night during summer vacation I found out about Hogan joining up with Hall and Nash to become the NWO and it was a crazy holy shit moment. Then sometime thereafter WWF Superstars was suddenly replaced in its syndicated timeslot by WCW Pro and I was able to follow it on a weekly basis.
