I don't see a NBA Finals thread (maybe there isn't much to talk about since Golden State will probably win their third straight championship), but here it is....

Looming over the Finals are the speculated departure of Kevin Durant (GSW) and Kawhi Leonard (TOR) from their respective teams.
I see the Warriors winning 4-1 with Curry finally winning the elusive Finals MVP (especially with Durant not playing Game 1 and perhaps beyond).  The Warriors are just too deep and have too weapons for the Raptors (they didn't even play very well against the Trailblazers but did just enough to sweep them....think about that).

LOL@ this

nah buddy the Raptors are probably the best defense they will face in their run and the raptors have the best player in the nba on their team.

I got raptors in 5 unless durant comes back then i have to change my prediction

Good job by the Raptors winning Game 1.

I never said the Warriors couldn't be beaten. In fact, they played like shit today, just like they did for most of the Western Conference Finals. But they have shown to have the ability to turn it on when it matters. It didn't happen today, and credit goes to the Toronto defense (and many clutch baskets by their offense). Of course they have to keep this up to beat Golden State, because nobody takes advantage your mental lapses better than they do.

I hope you're right, kk.  If anything happens to Kawhi, it won't matter if KD returns.

The Warriors need Durant.  A calf strain that was "very minor" when it occurred?  I call bullshit.  So much for the theory that the Warriors are better off without him.

Kwahi  was pretty tame last nite. Warriors kinda shut him down. Siakam was off the charts good but I can't see him putting up 30 every game. Rapters got lucky on a few shots last nite. They just threw the ball up to beat the shot clock and they went in. I think you see more of Boogie in Sundays game. Warriors need something from Klay Thompson on offense. He's either unstoppable or missing in action.

I don't know what it is with Klay. He's either hot or cold. He always tries hard to create his own shot but that's not who he is. He is a spot-up shooter (and a good defender), so stop trying to dribble the ball ten times and forces up a bad shot. That's Curry and KD's (if the latter ever comes back) job.

The Warriors made a big second-half comeback to win Game 2 but it's costly, and they lost both Looney and Thompson to injuries. Cousins and Bogut played well in Looney's place, but with Thompson hurt, they need more than ever to have Durant back.

With Boogie and Bogut they don't need Looney. They have Jordan Bell as a third option.
Toronto sure gives up a lot of uncontested dunks. Someone is missing their assignments.
If Durant comes back he will kill the Raptors with his mid range jumper.

So far the Raptors have played shit for 2 quarters in total....3rd quarter in game 2 and 1st quarter last night. Even if Durant comes back, I gotta hope that Toronto just needs to take 1 of the 2 potential games at home.

That late timeout was brutal. The Raptors had all the momentum after trailing most of the game to take a 6-pt lead late in the game, but Nick Nurse decided to call a  timeout. The next thing you know the Splash Brothers drained a couple of 3's to snatch the championship right out of the Raptors' hands.

Once Kwahi gave up the ball it should have gone right back to him. I wouldn't trust anyone else on that team to take last shot.

KD will probably take the warriors 31 mil and stay now. He'll rehab for one year and show up for playoff time.

Here's a way to keep BOTH KD and Klay off the free agency market.

The Warriors will keep Durant if he wants to stay. ( I think they feel like they owe it to him)Thompson will stay. No doubt in my mind.Cousins made 6 mil with Warriors. He didn't play that well to get that much more. Damion Jones was playing well before he got hurt. Won't break my heart if he goes.Looney made 1.6 mil. He might be hard for Warriors to keep.Iguedala says he wants to come back for one more season next year but I can't see the Warriors paying him 18 mil again. Livingston has to retire. His play regressed so much you don't want him on the court.

I have no idea why Curry was shooting for a three when they only needed 1 to tie and two to win with 8 secs left. Toronto was out of fouls so they couldn't foul anyone. Either poor shot selection on Curry or poor play calling.

They definitely called that play from the bench. Put the ball in your best players hands for the shot. He got a decent look, nothing amazing, but decent.
