Many sites are picking up the story that there was an incident between Bully Ray and a fan at ROH's debut show in Oregon this weekend.  The fan was supposedly shouting things at Velvet Sky and Angelina Love.  Sky is obviously Bully's woman.  Bully had security grab the fan and bring him backstage where the fan claims he was intimidated and threatened by Bully before being returned to his seat.  The fan claims he was just shouting normal stuff that you say to heels and was not being inappropriate, whereas Bully felt like he was crossing a line and being disrespectful.

Either way, it's pretty apparent that Bully probably would've been OK if he had just had security remove the fan rather than drag him backstage.

The fan is whining online about the situation and generating a lot of publicity.  Now ROH is opening an internal investigation into Bully's actions.

ROH released the following statement:

"ROH has always taken fan-first approach, with fan experience being at the forefront of all of our live events. We consider this to be very serious and will be conducting an internal review over the next 48 hours to determine the appropriate actions."

Who, Bully or the fan or both?

I really have no sympathy for either guy in this one.  Without knowing any details, I think it's safe to guess that the fan was being a dick.  And Bully is the biggest dick there is so I have no doubt he overreacted and did something very stupid.  Of course, even in the ECW days, much less the territory days, that fan would've been lucky if he wasn't beaten from one end of the building to the other, but in this day and age we get online whining for just being threatened.

At the Houston show I attended everyone was giving Bully a hard time and he gave a little back but not much.

I don’t know why he would do the backstage piece in this day in age just get the person removed and move on. I think bully will probably be the one paying the price in this situation.

Oh my god, this is too rich. Bubba Ray’s ECW schtick for awhile was to single out fans in the crowd (sometimes women) and absolutely humiliate them and tear them apart. Am I confusing the story on this? That was Bubba, right?

However, a fan yelling back at the wrestlers is not allowed?

Fuck this guy and everything he stands for.

Yeah, in ECW in the 1998-999 range when he effectively became lead heel, Bubba Ray Dudley would go into positively profane rants about fans in the stands or would use the absolutely cheapest heat possible to get fans to the point of jumping the rail or taking swings at the Dudleys when the fans ought to have known better about how they were getting worked. You could argue alternately that he was getting a reaction based on working the crowd, no matter what you think of the methods, and that drew money, in relative terms, while the fan in this case was just some guy going too far without being provoked or generating any greater benefit. You could also say Bully Ray is the classic guy who can dish it out, but can't take it and is reaping the ill rewards of his own gimmick of mouthing off viciously at fans. Whatever the case, if they really took the fan backstage to let Bully face him down, the people who went along with that idea must be brain dead. It's not 1974 when cops and others would laugh at a fan for being scared of a fake wrestler or would look the other way while someone got roughed up. You can't do this sort of thing anymore and shouldn't try.

First show in Oregon so I'm guessing inexperienced security working a wrestling show who were asked to do something and just did it.  Security familiar with working wrestling shows wouldn't have allowed this to happen.  I'm sure that company will never be used again.

The fan definitely probably had some screws loose and if others set it up and allowed it to take place....they probably take on more of the responsibility for not knowing better in this litigation-laced society we live in today.

Holy shit, the fan should be bragging online, not whining.

It's not as if he was physically touched or anything.

Fucking pussy shit fans these days.

I remember a couple friends and me getting kicked out of a WWF show back in the early 90's. We were sitting over the entrance, so we could see behind the curtain from our seats (We bought the seats knowing this). I forget who else we were giving it to, but Razor Scott Hall was taking most of our wrath.

Right as the main event started (Luger vs somebody), they sent security up for us. The security guard acted like he didn't want to do it, but he threw us out, He said Scott Hall told him "Either you go up and throw them out or we'll go up and do it."

As we were being escorted out, Hall came out of the curtain and did his bullshit "Whooooo" and did that stupid finger gesture. He said, something along the lines of "sucks that you missed the main event".We just laughed at him and told him we aren't missing much with Luger in it.

I had The Great Malumba fucking go ape shit on me after I gave him a Bulldog Bob Brown poster to sign (Who he wrestled that night). He violently took the pen and stabbed the shit out of the picture lol. It's like srossi said though, we live in a different climate these days.

This

Btw, where is this fan whining online?

I'd love to read what he is saying about the situation. Hopefully some fans who realize it's all a work (although Bully Rae is a douche of the highest magnitude) "bully" this shit stain online.

Salvatore Bellamo tried coming after three of us after throwing insults at him. And he was a face. 😁😁😁

It's probably Rubber Room material but he went on an epic rant at an ECW PPV.

I went to a show once with my neighbors and one of them got stupid and decided to punch Sgt. Slaughter in the chest.

Cops grabbed him and Slaughter said to bring him to the back, I legit thought he was going to get the shit kicked out of him, but instead Slaughter just read him the riot act and had the cops throw him out on his ass.

It was dead of winter and about 20 degrees outside and the dumbass left his jacket on the back of his seat, (He asked if they could go get it for him, he was told no) so he was clad in tee shirt and jeans, and the next event was Flair vs Piper, we had front row tickets, and when I asked his brother what he wanted to do since it was so cold outside his reply was "Fuck him, let him freeze, I didn't tell him to hit a wrestler."

So we left him outside in the cold while Flair and Piper went to a 45 minute or so match, we did have our priorities you know, and when we got out to the car there he stood, shivering like a dog shitting razor blades.

Taught his stupid ass not to hit a wrestler, but if it happened today he would probably be able to sue Slaughter, the Cops, and Jim Crockett Promotions for throwing him out into the cold without letting him get his coat.
