Well if the Eagles didn't have Brian Westbrook they would be 2-8 or 3-7 this year. Giving thanks. He shows up every week.

Gotta be thankful (baseball) for Jimmy Rollins.

And yours?

I'm thankful that it looks like the right son of Bill Wirtz took over the Blackhawks after the old man died.

Tony Romo and T fuckin' O. We'd still be, at best, a .500 team without those two.

Ray Rice for giving Rutgers football legitimacy for the first time in my life.

The Appalachian State football team for upsetting Michigan and convincing Lloyd Carr that it really is time to get off the sidelines.

Trevor Francis.

Makes his league debut in the Second Division as a 16 year old (still the youngest ever to play for Blues) and scores.   Becomes a starting regular later on that season, when Blues have won 5 matches out of 21.  In the next 14 games we win 11 and draw 3 and he scores 13 goals - and misses  three of those games.   Includes a 4-0 win over Bolton where he scores all 4 goals, something no other 16 year old has ever done.

The next season he's rested at the start, Blues go nowhere, then he's back in the team.  Half-way through the season Blues are 14th.  Then the results are W, W, W, D, W, W, D, D, W, W, D, W, W, D, D, W, W and we need a draw in the last game of the season to get promoted back to the top division for the first time in 8 years.  Trip to Orient, 1-0 win and we're back.

We spent the next 7 years avoiding relegation thanks to his goals.  Then we sell him for £1m - double the transfer record at the time - and promptly get relegated...

Best player ever to don the royal blue.

The only one who came close was Christophe Dugarry, who kept us up in the half-a-season he played for us with some blistering displays.
